What do you love most about your job?
I cannot imagine a more satisfying and rewarding career. Every client is different and every session is different. As a therapist I provide hope when clients feel helpless, a listening ear when in pain, anger, distress or feeling overwhelmed and if required the tools and strategies to manage to live the life they want.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I previously worked as both a Production Engineer and Retail Manager. Although I enjoyed my previous careers, I always felt something was missing.
I have always had an interest in psychology and went back to study part time while I was working full time.
I am working full time as a therapist for 10 years and feel very grateful for finding a career that I love.
Why should our clients choose you?
My approach is very flexible and adaptable to each individual. First and foremost, therapy with me is a safe and confidential, I value and regard this very highly.
I am interested in helping you to live more a more effective and satisfying life, and will expect you will take your insights and knowledge gained through the therapy process into your life.
Counselling, Psychotherapy, CBT, ACT
Depending on the presenting issue and on what the client is seeking, generally I help clients to live as well as they possibly can in the present . This may include problem solving and self-esteem buiding, while exploring the history of the issue and the underlying dynamics. I offers you a place to offload, to explore your thoughts and feelings with the chance to see things from new perspectives and angles. It does involve looking at the present problems (what is going on at the moment) and at underlying issues (that may relate to early messages about the world, relationships, and how you ‘should’ be). The aim is for you to understand yourself better, to make changes to your life that are more productive and rewarding, and to help you move towards becoming the kind of person you want to be.
