We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Gates this August. It was literally perfect. The food, the service, the environment. ..absolutely everything. I started planning the wedding about 9 months in advance and I must of emailed Laura (event coordinator) about 50,000 times. She was always extremely helpful. They were always very genuine, respectful, professional, knowledgeable, reliable and caring. Very hard working group of people. I remember when we were originally looking for our venue. We were deciding between Gates and the Fort Garry Hotel. I got a great sense of sincerity and genuineness from the Gates, and that is why we ended up going with them. Laura responded to emails in a very timely manner and was incredibly accommodating. On the day of the wedding, they did an awesome job of making sure everything was going smoothly. We can't say enough great things. Many of our guests mentioned that it was the nicest wedding that they had ever attended. We've also been there several times for brunch or dinner. Again, great atmosphere and food. You really can't go wrong. We're going to go back every year on our anniversary. Thank you so much. More...

We, (Alli Mae Events) have coordinated numerous weddings and special functions at this venue and we can't say enough about Ray, Nadine and the entire team. They are always there to support and accommodate last minute changes or set up needs. Notably, they managed a ceremony move over in the middle of some pretty unstable weather conditions and their flexibility allowed our clients to have their outside dream wedding they envisioned for more than a year! I was there on Thursday with a large party and a few things were not as good as they could have been. We all ordered drinks and the wine order was placed. The wine came out before the drinks and the waitress asked if we wanted it served. Not before the drinks!! I ordered the onion soup. There was far too much bread and it absorbed the broth which made just a bowl of mush. I didn’t want to make a fuss so I took it home and threw it out. The venue was very nice.
