Mr. Lunch

At Dagwood you can come in for lunch and get a wonderful sandwich made for by a wonderful man who takes great care he was one sous chef at a large five-star hotel in downtown Vancouver but then decided to open a sandwich shop in Mapleridge deciding it was much easier way of life but with him he brings his culinary excellence from his days as a chef at the five-starchef in downtown Vancouver sometimes I come here and have the tuna sandwich sometimes I come here and have the ham sandwich sometimes I come here and have the bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich with extra mayonnaise and extra onions the onions give me bad breath but oh well I have married A very forgiving woman who does not care if I have onion breath so I do not have to go find a new woman so they don't care if I have onion breath because I don't have to attracting you woman so I always ask for onions on my sandwich if you want to wonderful sandwich at a tremendously Lolo dirt cheap price then this is your guy this is your place this is your sandwich

Love their soups!!. This place is amazing! Don't let the location or decor fool you, this place has Gastown quality soups and sandwiches! I live in the neighbourhood and have become a regular! The soups are the best I've tasted in a café, not too salty nor too watery. My favourite is their jalapeño corn chowder and baked potato, and tomato basil, and actually I love all of them! My BBQ chicken sub came on a long sub with an amazing sauce, (haven't been able to find the sauce anywhere in retail stores) and never gets boring. This is the guy you want to visit when you're in the industrial park in your workingman then you want to eat some food and lots of it because you been working all day see you come to Dagwood sandwich to come where you go eat when you're on your lunch break it work see you go to Dagwood's have sandwich have a Sue's got some other things are to got some breakfast selections really nice guy been the same guy for years I going there once in a while grab myself Salinger Sue and it's a good break when you're in industrial park doing your job

Huge "small" AWESOME!!!. Not sure how anyone could give this place a hands down. By far the best place for lunch in the area. Soups are to die for. Staff are friendly, homey, inviting, like family. Everyday I am met with a smile and a small exchange of "Hey, hows life?" You just don't get this kind of service from a fast food joint. I would definately recommend to anyone looking for food served fast, not fast food. More...

Best Soup Hands Down. I am so excited that fall is upon us so that people won't make fun of me for craving dagwoods soup every day. Highly recommend the jalepeno corn chowder and shrimp jumbo - I always take some to go for delicious left overs! And I agree that the apple muffins are definately addictive crack muffins... Great lunch stop. I work down in the industrial park close to Dagwoods and I am a regular customer. His food is what I would call great home comfort food! His soups are always rotating and are amazing. They are made from scratch and you can sure tell the difference, I cant think of a better restaurant for soup. His sandwich's are always made with the freshest bread. I have never had a day old piece of bread touch my lips and I go there usually 2-3 time a week for lunch. I will warn you, if you don't want to be a regular stay away from his apple crumble muffins!! I swear he makes them with crack they are so addictive! We jokingly call them crack muffins, so if you go in after reading this review ask for a "crack muffin." You will make his day. Lindsey is the owner and he works behind the counter and its easy to see he cares about each and every order he serves up. Bottom line, Highly recommended for a great place for lunch.
