Our rescue dog Tucker was highly reactive and leash aggressive. We sent him for a 2 week board and train with excellent results. Using the tools and skills we and Tucker have been given by ITK9 we can confidently walk him, and have now adopted him. The ITK9 staff were fantastic and have continued to support us with any questions or problems. I had daisy, my two year boxer, do the three week course. They worked on her recall, leash walking and overall listening. She was well trained upon pick-up, and they had great instructions on bringing her home- the pressure is on us to keep it out, otherwise the dog will go back to old habits . the only thing I think is lacking is the leash reactivity training- although she stopped reacting to dogs on a walk, she still can’t be introduced to other dogs which makes family get togethers difficult - she likely needs to spend more time specialized on this. We are very Impressed our Redbone Coonhound Scarlett just spent 2 weeks at itraink9. She is trained for deer recovery and scent tracking but was struggling with in home obedience. After 2 weeks at Itraink9 she was like a different dog (same personality just well behaved). She is a joy to take on walks and to have in the house. Our family has had a wonderful experience with itraink9’s team, system and results! I love how honest they are and how well they get to know your dog. As a client, you have to follow through and put the work in. It can feel overwhelming but the team/trainer breaks the training down with the how and why and shares many training videos. They also have an open forum of communication with the community of clients so you can reach out with any help you’re in need of, as well as, read what other people are experiencing and the suggestions for them. We took our two dachshunds to itraink9 for 3 weeks for problems around leash reactivity and general obedience around the house! Wow!! We cannot explain the difference we have noticed in their behaviour even after only a few days at home. We live in a busy area with lots of people and dogs! Having so many distractions and triggers made walking them incredibly stressful! After the training, our walks are actually enjoyable as we can clearly see the skills they have learned to better cope with the outside world! After working with numerous in home trainers I finally bit the bullet and enrolled my 1 year old cockapoo in a 2 week board and train with ITrainK9. I was extremely hesitant because I had always heard that if you aren’t an active participant in the training, your dog won’t listen to you. Howie has been home for just over a week now and the difference in his behaviour is incredible. I am so thankful for the ITK9 team and happy that they were able to incorporate me into the training during the Go-Home lessons and the abundance of online material to review. Howie is already doing amazing and I’m excited to continue his training at home. If you’re worried or hesitant about leaving your dog for weeks on end, I feel you! I could not be happier with iTK9’s training for my 3 yr old german shepherd Rico! He was a headache to walk before, always pulling, constantly getting in barking matches and lunging himself towards other dogs during walks. He went for the 2 week program in June, it’s now the start of September and I can proudly say I have had absolutely no problems of the such with him. It’s great that they also give you ( the owner) a lesson because its just as necessary to properly communicate with your dog. I couldn’t be happier with Finnegan’s progress after spending 3 weeks with iTrainK9. He’s a 4-year-old Sheepadoodle that was very reactive on leash with anything that moves fast, particularly scooters, skateboards and even motorcycles. After returning home from training the change in him is amazing. His reactivity has drastically reduced, which makes our walks so much more enjoyable as we are both calmer and more relaxed. Finn was good in the house before training, never got into anything, it was only when people came over that there was an issue. The improvement here has been great too. We still have work to do and that’s on me to continue to work with him at home to get him comfortable in those situations (the videos and community are great tools to help!). It can be hard to leave your pup for a longer period, but the staff were great, they keep you informed and answer any questions you have. Our 18 month old aussiedoodle Roxy recently completed her 3 week training program. She's a very sweet, very anxious little girl who is also very smart. She had us trained for treats! But the bigger issue was her reactive behaviour inside and outside our house. She was constantly barking at the windows and racing around the yard barking at people and dogs walking by. Taking her for a walk was very difficult. We were quite hesitant about the use of different collars. But we had hit a plateau with only treats and day to day life with Roxy was less than ideal. Roxy has now been home for nearly a month. Her behaviour around the house is dramatically improved. She now relaxes on her place while people and dogs walk by and she is able to play and enjoy being outside in the backyard. She is no longer constantly on anxious high alert and is able to just be. We still have lots of work to do for her to feel comfortable on walks when she sees other people and dogs as well as meeting new people in our home. She is still very reactive on her leash and around visitors she doesn't already know. But we're making progress together! My dog Maximus is an American Eskimo 1.5 years old. I have had many dogs in my past but Maximus is the first dog that I struggled with. Maximus had a list of issues that slowly grew over time (pre ITRAINK9): • Nail cutting fear • Counter surfing • Other bad behaviour like playing with my shoes (specifically my shoes only) and destroying toilet paper. • Stubborn with his commands; he would sometimes ignore my commands. • Separation anxiety • Isolation anxiety • OCD behaviours with constant scratching of his shadow on glass doors or shiny surfaces • Reactivity towards dogs • Reactivity towards people ITRAINK9 was highly recommended by my dog groomer. After hearing about her dogs progress, I did my research and eventually decided to entrust ITRAINK9 with my dog. It has been just a little over 2 weeks since Max came home. He is noticeably calmer and more obedient. He went to his place and remained there far longer than he ever has in the past. However as the first week progressed, Max tried to resurface some old habits. We followed the direction of ITRAIN and remained consistent. And during the second go home lesson, ITRAINK9 answered all my questions (special thanks to Steve for being so patient and addressing all my concerns). With the support of ITRAINK9 I really noticed an improvement during week 2. His obedience improved and his loose leash walking is remarkable. Ho goes to his place and remains there until we release him. Overall amazing! Maximus's issue improvements (post ITRAINK9) : • Nail cutting was not part of the curriculum so it continues to be a work in progress. • Counter surfing is no longer an issue. • Playing with my shoes and destroying toilet paper is no longer an issue. • 99.9% responsive to commands on the first attempt. • Separation anxiety is no longer an issue. • Isolation anxiety is a significant improvement. Previously I couldn't leave him alone in the house for more than 2 or 3 minutes. And this weekend we left him for several hours. • OCD behaviours is no longer an issue. • Reactivity towards dogs is completely manageable. After 2 corrections during week 1, Maximus has not pulled, lunged or barked at any dog during our walks since…incredible! • Reactivity towards people is no longer an issue. Overall experience…. PRO • ITRAINK9 accommodated Maximus with very little notice and worked to my schedule • ITRAINK9 sent pictures and videos during his stay; they even sent me one extra set of pics • I was informed that Dan was the assigned trainer for Maximus - Just wanted to say thank you Dan for the amazing job! • One of the trainers called me over the weekend to address my questions (Thanks Megan for calling on a weekend) • On my way to the second go home lesson, I was 4km away and got stranded, when I texted to inform I would be late, Kat sent Jason the owner to pick me up so I didn't have to walk (beyond expectations) • On arrival to the second go home lesson, Maximus greeted Steve with the helicopter tail wag. That tells me he was very happy to see him, and it is very comforting knowing my dog is happy on their premise with the staff. I feel confident my dog was in excellent hands. CONS • Wish I ITRAIN is closer to my home, I have to travel 2 hours one way to get there….but worth it More...

We were arrogant in believing we could train our rescue without formal training. All you need is discipline and structure right? Sure but do you really know how to read/ communicate with a dog? After two years with our loved Lola we got to a point were we really struggled with her separation anxiety and overall reactivity to certain things on walks ( kids on scooters were her kryptonite, she'd lunge and bark for them as they passed by ). We were mitigating her anxieties more so than learning how to help her overcome them. We reached out to iTK9 to help us out. We decided to put Lola in the "great reset program" and iTK9 gave us a new, better life with our dog. Training Lola was half the project, her obedience is of course far better after three weeks. Training us was the second half. Through the online resources and go home lessons we have learned how to implement the structure Lola was taught. We have learned how to better read and understand what our dog is telling us in various situations. This overall makes a huge difference in how we communicate with our dog and how we explain what we expect out of her. Leash walking our dog is a dream now. She rarely takes her focus off us, she's engaged with us and focused on the task at hand...walking. Her obedience is better 10 fold. She will not do anything without a command. We can leave her at home without fear of her howling for us to come back. The biggest thing the program provided us with is the knowledge and tools to help keep our dog structured the way we want/expect. We have a deeper relationship with our companion as a result and are much less anxious about her own anxiety. We look forward to continuing training our dog at home with the tools we have been provided with. The only negative comment we would have is a communication based one. Getting started was a bit of a hassle as we had difficulty reaching out and getting in touch with someone from the school. Multiple calls/voicemails went unanswered...a bit of phone tag was played. It took a few weeks but we are on a roll, 4 weeks ago we picked up our pup after a 2 week board and train with ITK9 Obi (1 year old springer spaniel x) was having issues with leash reactivity and getting his attention once he fixated was impossible, I’ve never used an e collar or a prong collar with any of my other dogs and would never even think of using one without proper education. I was worried about sending him away thinking he would come home “different” or maybe be standoff ish towards us, Obi has learned so much & made such great progress in his behaviour from when we 1st got him and I didn’t want him to possibly regress. I made the decision to send him after a scary situation when his reactivity was too close a call to him possibly inflicting harm on another person. ITK9 sent us update photos and a video and finally the 2 weeks were over and we went to pick up our boy, when Megan brought him and I saw him walking at heel so perfectly I was excited but he paid zero attention to us and I thought oh lord what have I done, and then he heard my voice and the recognition set in. The rules when you get home seem overwhelming you’re not just enforcing what your dog has learned you’re also learning yourself. Every morning before I even got out of bed I watched Jason’s training video on a heel walk and the ecollar for the first weeks We took things slow with the new training and training tools, working on thresholds and place inside and outside, mostly avoided running into other dogs and triggers (squirrels) we had to modify a few things inside due to a foot surgery but always tried to follow the rules as best we could. Today was one of those perfect days where the walk was easy, we passed (giving space) numerous dog’s on leash , practiced “place” outside on the driveway, looking right into my eyes at stops and had a great game of tug in the backyard. I told Megan when I dropped Obi off he’s amazing inside but once he’s on leash and outside it’s like he drank a red bull and he just zones out. Training your dog never stops if you want to have “that dog” that everyone is envious of. Getting to the point where there is trust in the relationship takes patience, & sometimes discipline. I can honestly say after today ITK9 helped us get there. Oh and he did come home the same goofy, full of kisses, lovable guy, & he stills loves his mom !! he just came home understanding how to calm. Taking my dog Cashew (1.5yr cockapoo) to itk9 was the best thing I could have done for both of us. Before Cashew spent 4 weeks with the ITK9 team, he was extremely leash reactive to anyone and everyone, barked out the front window all day and was incredibly timid/skiddish. I was so nervous to drop him off, constantly wondering if he would be ok and manage his seperation anxiety but the team kept us updated and sent many photos/videos throughout his stay. It was also so great to see how happy he was to return for our second lesson. Cashew has been home for about 2 months now and he is overall a WAY more confident and happy dog, we get to enjoy off leash trail walks, a quieter house and I know how to manage his reactivity (he used to bark from across the street, now we can confidently pass right by other dogs without a peep from him), hes even made a few friends. Itk9 did an amazing job with both my dogs Nala and Tyson. They both had many issues with general obedience and manners overall. Leash pulling, jumping up, sleeping in their crate and resource guarding to name a few. Tyson in particular also had very bad separation anxiety and was very dog reactive as well. When I picked them up back in February I was amazed at how much progress they made. They were completely changed dogs but still had the same happy and loving personality. Our puppy, Molly, a border collie mix, was our first dog after having a cat for 18 years and we found the transition very stressful. A year ago, we adopted Ito, a one-eyed abused puppy from Nicaragua. At his young age, he had lost an eye and had been beaten with a rock and left for dead. He came here with an understandable dose of fear and anger. Also being a loving spirit and an "island" dog, he was used to walking up to strangers and other dogs freely, then sometimes showing aggression if love wasn't shown to him instantly. All these things were making it difficult to parent him. We sent him to iTK9 twice, once for initial basic training, once for a refresher. After the first iTK9 stay, he came back much better and, after the second one, he came home near perfect. The staff is incredibly friendly and loving to the pups and they really do care. I have always had dogs, and after losing our dog last year, I decided to adopt a rescue. Immediately I knew this would be a new experience as he was extremely fearful, loud noises, trucks, other animals (especially dogs), and reactive. I began training immediately, was not seeing results, sought out another trainer, again no results. It was to a point that I was unable to walk or manage my dog, due to his reaction to other dogs. I truly felt defeated. I found ITrainK9 and it is the best decision I have made. When Rosco (our dog) came home it was evident he had progressed. He was calmer, listening, and walks are now manageable. The staff were able to reinforce some training/questions I had at the follow up lesson, and we continue to work daily on his progress. Recently, my two Great Danes attended ITrainK9’s, “The Great Reset”. This is a three week boarding/training program. Our dogs have been home almost a week and the transformation has been amazing! Although good dogs, we spoiled them and they needed to learn some manners! We did not walk them for fear of them pulling away from us. I can now walk both of them by myself and feel completely in control. As one of our dogs was reactive to other dogs, they taught us the signs to look for indicating that they were feeling anxious and how to avoid a potential problem. We now have set limitations in our home of places they are not allowed. For the first time ever they each sleep in a crate and there is no hesitation upon entering. When enrolled our two male dogs Lennon and Hartsy into the 3 week board and train, to stop their fighting and just basic obedience. Hartsy is a rescue and unfortunately our two boys did not get along after a while. They updated us twice a week with photos and a description of what they were learning. The go home lesson we had was very informative and we learned our dogs triggers and body language. Lennon and Hartsy are much more calm and listen. The changes we see in them both is amazing. We do not have enough good things to say about the staff and program at itraink9. Our dog, Dallas (9 month old aussiedoodle) did the 4 week program and the results were substantial. She walks loosely on a leash, follows commands (place, sit, down, heel), and we also fully trust her off leash. Steve, Dan, Megan, and co are amazing and are very passionate about what they do. Sending Jake in the 3 week boarding program at itraink9 was probably the hardest decision that had to be made and I'm so happy we did. I am beyond grateful for everything they did to ensure Jake had a better quality of life. Jake was a high energy dog who was afraid of pretty much everything and basically owned the house. He's been back for a week and already has shown so much improvement! It's great to see him calm, relaxed and really enjoying his time. The fact that he's now crate trained and our walks are much more enjoyable with all of us is probably the best part out of it all. We've learned a lot coming out of this and the biggest thing is that we are the route cause of how he was. We still have work to do but we are excited and making it a fun experience for us all.
