Elizabeth is hands-down the best animal caretaker I've ever encountered. She has a sure sense of what makes animals comfortable, notices all sorts of behavior and expressions of feeling and responds both caringly and responsibly to them. Her home is peaceful and interesting for them. Further, though, she cared for my cat much longer than I'd originally thought I'd need her to, when my mother had a stroke. She was generous and thoughtful and supportive and flexible with me, time and again, even sending me nice emails just for my own sake. She took Fredo to the vet twice, and got him a crackly tunnel that he just loves. In a very sad and stressful time, knowing that my cat was so well-cared-for was a huge comfort, a bit of a light in a dark time, and I'd look at the many pictures she sent me at particularly tough moments. I honestly wish everyone in the world was as good a caretaker as she is - it would be a much better place. More...

We used Hound and Kitty to take care of our 6 month old french bulldog for a week, Elizabeth made us feel at ease and was well equipped for our puppy. Even though our puppy was not completely house trained, Elizabeth took her on and took good care of her. It is nice to know if we go away for a week we can rely on Hound and Kitty to take good care of our puppy. Â I would highly recommend Hound and kitty, amazing service. More...

We have four cats, aged 8 to 13. Two of them are shy and low-maintenance. One is prone to anxiety and attention-seeking. And the eldest is on a twice-daily regimen of six medications: four eye drops, one topical gel, and one oral liquid. We would never leave these guys if we were not completely confident that they would get the care they need, and we have very high expectations for prospective caregivers. By way of context, one of my 2 kitties was diagnosed with diabetes. It proved a real challenge to control via a strict regimen of diet - served up at 12 hr intervals - and twice daily insulin shots. As the time grew near to our 2 week holiday, I was so stressed that I almost cancelled because I felt noone could deliver the same level of care to my poor diabetic guy. Alternatively, the thought of having him locked up most of the time to get the proper care at the vet didn't sit well.Enter Elizabeth from Hound and Kitty. She showed me she could handle meds, shots, precise feeding schedules and clearly gave the kids plenty of attention and play time 2x daily for 45 mins a shot. I cannot recommend her highly enough, whether your cat/dog has a health issue or not. She kept a daily log that we loved reviewing upon our return, sent reassuring pix (wot? the kitties r having fun without us?!) and emails, watered the plants, handled a minor house iasue but most importantly, she afforded me the peace of mind and trust to go on vacay without worrying.
