2014年創業。カナダのレストラン100選に毎年選ばれている大人気レストラン。ディナーでいただいた鴨のリエット、ラムのグリル、ハニーケーキはどれも絶品でした♡　ヌーベルキュイジーヌ風ですが、カナダや地元の旬の食材にこだわり、あっさりした味つけ。前菜、メイン、デザートでちょうど美味しく食べきれる量です。格式張ったところのないカジュアルな雰囲気。オタワを訪れたら断然おすすめ。ジャスティン・トルドー首相や奥様のソフィーさんもご友人と一緒によくお越しになるそうです。

Was looking for something lighter for dinner during a recent trip to Ottawa. Fauna was suggested as a good possibility and I would agree that this restaurant serves up some wonderful, natural inspired dishes. On this visit I had a half dozen PEI oysters, served with a variety of toppings - the best was a simple hand-grated horse radish. Also of note was a spicy topping. My second course was the okonomiyaki - a very nicely presented Japanese inspired vegetarian 'pancake'. All this complemented by a Revel cider. I sat at the bar for my solo meal and service was attentive and very responsive. Very knowledgeable about the various menu and bar items, it complemented the food experience very well. The execution is on point with the ribeye and lobster tail being perhaps the best meal of the weekend in Montreal. I will admit I like a little more acidity with my ceviche but that was the only disappointment on what was a lovely evening.

Went to Fauna for my girlfriend's birthday on a tuesday night. We were choosing between a selection of higher end restaurants in Ottawa, but Fauna's menu and ethos stood out to us. Unfortunately, when we visited the restaurant was almost empty, save for another three tables that got occupied during our time there. The interior is well decorated, warm and inviting and it was unfortunate that it lacked the necessary audience to add to our experience. We ordered two starters and two mains (pictured). The first starter featured a burrata on sourdough with peaches and plums and garnished with cedar oil, which we found out was sourced from the pastry chef's garden. The burrata was creamy, and paired well with its accompaniments, although I wouldn't consider it a breathtaking dish. Instead, we were huge fans of the bison tartare, which paired very well with the raspberry compote and feta reduction that came with it. I liked the meatiness of the bison and enjoyed the variety of textures and flavours on offer. Our mains were both standouts, although I enjoyed the pork more than my dining companion, as she clearly favoured the crab. The soft shell crab was excellently cooked, and the curry dusting added a lovely kick. The standout on the dish was the chilli jam, as it both very spicy and tangy, and it paired very well with the crab. The pork was also great, and the medley of vegetables on the plate added complexity. At this point we were very full so we didn't opt for dessert, but rather got two coffees to end the meal. They were also excellent. Fauna is a great restaurant, and the price it charges makes sense. The menu featured a myriad of high quality options and we were pleased with the innovative dishes on offer. I do like this place. Food was excellent. Service friendly. They offered us a small corner table by the door and window (despite having a reservation) yet didn’t event blink when we said that that wouldn’t do it. We waited a bit at the bar and were seated at a better table promptly. Cocktails were great too and bartender checked in to see how they were etc. One thing that needs improvement is the overall pacing. We arrived at 9 and had finished our main course by 9:50 and they wanted to offer us dessert right then. Our first course came while we had just started drinking our cocktails, main course arrived super fast after starters and before the wine, espresso was served a few minutes before dessert arrived. So all in all very good but they need to improve the sequencing and pacing a bit for the kind of restaurant they are. More...

Service is friendly and attentive, and not "attitude-y" like other nice restaurants in downtown Ottawa. Food is delicious, creative and fresh; and we love the casual but still fancy feel of the place. We have literally never been disappointed! This is our go-to lunch spot during the week, so we were very happy to be able to host our wedding lunch here in September with family and it was amazing, as usual! Family was very impressed. Booked my wife's 30th here. My rating is based on the food, service, and experience with the manager. The meal was excellent and the service was great. The waitress joked with people and joined the conversation given the opportunity, really made it a nice evening. The manager also helped me out tremendously and accommodated my party for my wife beyond my imagination. He really went above and beyond for this special occasion and it was very appreciated. 2nd time at Fauna and it was as good as I remembered. All the dishes were fantastic and tasty cocktails. The soft shell crab is by far my favourite. The chili jam that comes with it is so good. Went there for dinner with my mom on a Monday. Wasn't very busy, food took a bit of time but service was great. Prices were definitely above average at approximately $35 per main and $20 for appetizers. A modern urban eatery on Bank. Food is elevated and reimagined. I had the Halibut which was prepared and presented very nicely. My starter was the lobster bisque and although I wanted to love it... I wanted to compare it to the lobster bisque I had in Key West ( my standard) but sadly it came far short of that. A closer comparison would be to that of a butternut squash soup with a fried seafood/lobster ball. Proof that sometimes reimagining things can go too far. Tasty soup... But not Lobster bisque. Still, a nice spot for dinner. It's not cheap so unless you have high end tastes and live that extravagant lifestyle it's not an everyday spot. But it is a place on the Ottawa map you should try. I went to dinner with my brother an partner. The food and wine options were good and we had a nice meal.The reason for four stars is that there was a large party in the restaurant that night and the service was a bit inattentive - honestly we did not feel that welcome. Based on our experience, it seems that the restaurant was not staffed appropriately.I will give this place a second chance as the food was quite good and we may have just had an unusual experience. Fauna made a list of the top restaurants in Canada so we wanted to check it out on our anniversary.First of all, you should definitely have a cocktail since they take a lot of pride in mixing up some pretty nice libations. Mine called for citrus, ginger  and pepper flavours that could throw it out of balance, but it was superb!For food we tried all of the available appetizers but one, the lobster bisque. Fauna is my FAVOURITE restaurant in Ottawa!  The best dish is the 80 Day Dry Aged Rib Eye... it is the BEST steak I've ever had.  INCREDIBLE (it is a splurge, but WORTH IT). 80 Day Dry Aged Rib Eye:   Tender meat, amazing flavour, perfect amount of juiciness and fattiness... Now I know what all the hype is about. It came with kimchee green beans and Korean potatoes, which complemented the meat well. SOFT SHELL CRAB: Super yummy! Crispy (because it was deep fried ) and lots of juicy crab meat! GUINEA FOWL: with parisienne gnocchi and asparagus. This dish was AMAZING. The whole time I was eating, I couldn't stop saying "WHAT A DELICIOUS BIRD" (yes, it's a bird. I thought it tasted similar to duck, but white meat; super tasty and tender)! Truthfully, the gnocchi wasn't my favorite (I'm SUPER picky about my gnocchi), but the deliciousness of the rest of the dish made up for it! Super memorable and I would 100% order this again.New Zealand LEMON SOLE: on sticky rice. Super yummy! The fish was tender but had a crispy exterior. ASPARAGUS: with brown butter béarnaise, Serrano ham floss and a poached egg - AMAZING! My boyfriend didn't want to order it because he didn't think asparagus could be special... He was so wrong! This asparagus dish was extremely flavourful and super memorable New Zealand COCKLES (similar to mussels): in a saffron wine sauce, served with toast. We really enjoyed these - very flavourful and the sauce was yummy to eat with the toast (which was also delicious).OCTOPUS ESCABECHE:  We love octopus because of its unique chewy texture. This was one of my boyfriend's favourite dishes. It wasn't my favourite, but it was definitely yummy! I think I prefer octopus when it's been grilled and has a bit of a smoky flavour. This octopus has a more acidic/citrus flavour.I highly recommend this restaurant. I absolutely love fauna. This place is home to the best burger in Ottawa. 80 day dry aged Angus burger is out of this world. The bun it comes on is a fantastic brioche but I've recently stopped eating bread. Hence the lack of a bun. The fries are equally good. Triple fried and extra crispy. Salad is fresh with a light vinegarette. Service is always above and beyond. The people that work here are down to earth, knowledgeable, and friendly. Definitely my go to lunch spot in Ottawa.I've also had several other items on the menu. All equally good. But the burger is soooo good. Why mess with a good thing?
