Dolphins Resort

Keeping in mind this is a world Famous Fishing Lodge and not an ultra modern glass and steel location Resort. The ambiance and rustic charm is wonderful in a spectacular setting with the ocean so close you can almost touch it. There are decorative, but well used, bird houses in the trees. Really, the beauty of the carefully groomed property is a delight... This is not the place for anyone wanting a fast paced Go-Go||resort style vacation.. There are hot tubs at most cabins, lovely walking areas, and stretching out on your deck with a book is the key to relaxing Dolphin's style. ||Now about Angler's Dining.. Yummy.. we go out there for breakfast on a regular basis and the dinners are amazing.. Fireside in the Fall and Winter and out on the deck on a beautiful summers eve. There are even cozy throws for cooler nights too. The food is wonderful and we often have a dinner of the Chef's Special and an appetizer to share. Portions well suited to keep you happily full for hours. Although we live in town we do stay at the Dolphins when a Special Occasion such as a wedding or anniversary is held there. Just had 3 days at Dolphins Resort and loved every minute! We were 3 families and we had the amazing Discovery Lodge (sleeps 8) plus another cabin. The Discovery Lodge was just wonderful with superb views over the water. The living space is was enormous and meant we could comfortably cook and dine for our party of 13. We also ate in the Anglers restaurant on site once and that was amazing with great food and service. There is a small beach and pontoon which was great to relax on. I am now going to be really picky and say the only improvement could be to put a couple of sun loungers on the balcony of the Discovery Lodge as that would have been a great spot to relax with a book!! But seriously that is the only constructive feedback I can give as the place is wonderful and in the most wonderful location. More...

The smaller cabins are a bit more rustic than the pictures present but the Sea Ridge (#13) is significantly bigger & better accommodations and worth the higher price if you're sharing. We stayed in cabin 10 for 1 night and then moved to Sea Ridge. Only the Beach house is truly steps away from the beach but the resort is not that big and the rest of the cabins are all perched on top of the hill and most have great views of the water. Would definitely recommend the Beach house or Sea Ridge for that next level experience but the staff are all great, very helpful and friendly and they are definitely very well organized for events. We attended a wedding and everything went wonderfully. There was some outside flower company which added some fantastic touches but the resort staff did all the set up & organized things very well. There was some billing confusion at the end of our stay due to changing suites and having to deal through the wedding couple for all our bookings was a bit confusing as well but once that part was done the rest of our stay was amazing. The fishing options seemed fairly expensive but only because we were only 2 and not able to get onto a boat to share the cost with others. I'd say they could greatly benefit from organizing a better option for single or couples when it comes to fishing (like a larger boat that takes out a number of guests but allows them to be separately billed at a reasonable rate). And they need to be more organized with the billing because a small mistake could cause a negative experience at the end but other than that they really were fantastic and I'd highly recommend this place for a nice oceanside vactaion spot. The eggs were soft just I asked, and the sauce had a creamy rich flavor. Even the taste of the coffee was rich, sure beats the coffee pucks from Costco I have at home. I loved the little stainless cup for ketchup makes me feel like I'm dining at the Hyatt in Vancouver on the 25th floor.Staff was very attentive with happy disposition. This is our third trip to Dolphins Resort and each has surpassed expectations. ||The resort has offered excellent specials which includes accomodation and a meal in their amazing ocean view restaurant. The cabins are rustic yet offer every amenity you need including private hot tubs and wood burning fireplaces. ||We stayed in cabin 6 on this occasion and it has lived up to the standard set by Dolphins Resort. The only recommendation I would have is maybe a string of white lights along the deck rail as there are no porch lights available.||Thanks Dolphin and see you next time! More...
