Our favourite local place to eat. Good variety of items on the menu, with lots of vegetarian dishes. Love the flavours! If you order spicy it's gonna be really spicy, be forewarned! Service can be a bit slow sometimes, especially if it's busy, but food generally comes quickly after ordering. Not a problem unless you are really in a rush. More...

This is my favourite lunch spot in this neighbourhood. The daily lunch special is a real treat. I love both the chicken curry and the fish curry. With the partha added, it's a very filling meal. The house made chutneys are lovely with the papadum which are always fresh and crispy. The Thursday and Friday lunch buffet features both chicken and fish. The other dishes rotate but are always thoughtfully paired so that you get a variety of flavours, colours and textures. There is nothing generic about this food. Their dal is absolutely delicious. Edit: only come here and order from menu (as opposed to from buffet) if you are not in a hurry. You could be waiting anywhere from 15 - 45 min for your food. Generally the food here is not too spicy, as most of their patron are office workers from nearby. I always have a weakness and craving for the Dal served here. Luckily they served it as part of their lunch buffet, along with a variety of vegetarian and meat dishes, as well as a daily dessert. Their lunch specials are also very good, though I tend to lean towards their lunch buffet. I confess I don't come here as much as I like, because I just can't stop myself once I get started. More...

Worth going to for a taste of delicious South Indian cuisine. I would give this place 5 stars for the food, but 4 stars overall because of its notorious reputation for slow service.

Has a buffet Thursday and Friday, and a pretty good lunch special every day from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. We tried the lamb special which looked sparse when it came to the table but proved to be quite a decent amount of rice and lamb, and enjoyed it.

I have been going to Chutney Villa almost once a week for almost 8 years. Â It has always been the highlight of my week. Â I am a huge fan of South Indian food, and I feel like this restaurant is one of the best I have had in this category. Â I have always loved the daily lunch special and now on Thursday and Friday I support them by enjoying their amazing Buffet special that is about $15. Â (a few bucks less than most buffets, how can you complain?)Regardless of their supposed non-authenticity in selling north indian/ north american Butter Chicken, this is an amazing south Indian restaurant. Â I am sure they have to do this to keep their non-regular customers happy. Â How many times did someone ask for butter chicken then one day they just sold it, who cares! Â its pretty good, and of a way different recipe than standard North food.Great service, and great food, and really reasonably priced considering the quantity and number of spices you are getting in a single bite! Â I can get served quickly on my lunch and still get to my meetings and do errands. Â So, again thank you for the food and great service! More...

Visited this amazing South Indian restaurant run by Ms. Muralee. You will first be pleasantly surprised you the variety. All South Indian and Sri Lankan. The taste of Rassam, Sambar, Moru, filter coffee was something totally unexpected in this quaint place. The Kerala Paratha was served crisp, the moru with coriander leaves and mustard tadka, the coffee in South Indian tumbler!Ms. Muralee who runs this place is a bundle of energy. She chatted with us and was so passionate of getting the authentic taste and perfection. Kudos to her!A MUST VISIT FOR ALL SOUTH INDIANS! More...

Located at 147 E Broadway Vancouver, on the north side of Broadway near Main Street. Nice little restaurant serving south Indian food. They have daily lunch specials from $10.00 and up. We were told that there is a lunch buffet on Fridays and Saturdays. The curried lamb is delicious. But they also serve one of the best roti. They accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit and cash.NOTE: Limited pay street parking only unless you can find a spot for free parking. More...
