Really love this gym - really kind & knowledgable staff, very chill but motivating vibe, facilities are always clean, and machines work well and they actually post signage when not working to acknowledge it... 10/10 would recommend!

I've been a member here for just over 6 years - it's not as fancy or shiny as the big box gyms, but it has all the correct machines and a moderate amount of free weights - the vibe is very community-oriented and the staff generally take the time to learn your name. The second floor of the gym has the boxing ring and offers classes in Yoga, Muay Thai, Boxing, and various conditioning classes - the clientele is largely bereft of meatheads and gym bunnies or people who are just doing it for the 'gram - folks are generally trying to improve their health and lives and the trainers, who have various levels of experience and specialization are able to meet the diverse spectrum of needs that the clients haveThe gym operates 24/7/365 schedule, which is one of the primary reasons I chose this gym, but the staff and atmosphere are the reason I stay More...

Bloor Street Fitness is the best gym I have ever been a member of. The staff is very friendly and encouraging no matter what your fitness level is. I also find the trainers are willing to help you if you’re unsure of how to do something or have a question about anything fitness related. I was worried about hurting myself with my form once and Ian really helped me make sure I was doing things properly to avoid hurting myself. They seem to take safety very seriously and want to make sure everyone is okay and having a good experience. I recently hurt my knee working out and they were very helpful and made sure I was okay which I greatly appreciated. The gym also has a lot of different equipment, as well as one of the few gyms I have seen with a trap bar and many benches so you’re often not waiting for one to open up. I really like the atmosphere of this gym and I don’t feel inferior when I am here. They really try to promote an atmosphere of inclusion and positivity. As a trans identifying person, I feel safe here ( I left my previous gym due to safety issues) and I feel the staff would have my back if anything were to come up (which it hasn’t). The monthly rate is also very fair and I appreciate the 24 hour availability. I am really happy it is so close to me and I hope to be a member for a long time. Thanks for the great experience! I love this gym. It’s got a community vibe and I love all the things about it that other reviewers probably hate. It’s not fancy or the biggest but it’s got heart and wonderfully friendly staff. I always think of it as my local not-for-profit community centre as they always have activities and charity events, and even a class for at-risk youth. It’s got no frills, a very reasonable monthly fee, which includes free towel service, 24/7 access, and unlimited group classes (which are, really, really fun!). They also recently opened up a nearby location to include all their yoga, pilates, and movement classes. It’s a small space but the staff and members make it work. I find they are not pushy about selling personal trainer packages, which makes it a more relaxed environment. But I see they are always busy with clients when they’re not teaching a class. I love this gym for it’s positive vibes and would rather go here than any of the other box cutter gyms. More...

I love this gym. It's where I learned to love boxing and fitness. Sure, it smells a little like a gym, Sure, there's some rough around the edges boxer types using the ring, but Hey! What do you want in a gym !!The equipment is always well maintained and clean; the boxing area is one of the finest in the city and the staff is awesome. This place has a real personality. But if you want a sterile, fancy gym with hi-life amenities, then go pay some massive company that owns the market already and help push out the local spots that make neighborhoods real. This gym has great classes and it is comparatively cheap. I hear others say it's too pricey and they go to planet fitness. Planet fitness is faceless and how cheap do you gotta be for something that will improve your overall quality of life. Just sayin' More...

Having recently relocated to Toronto, I wanted somewhere close by where I could go to train, but also hang out. The atmosphere is something else. . sometimes I wonder if this is where they shot the Rocky series. I really feel like i'm the stallion himself down in Philadelphia.. I mean if that doesn't motivate you then head on over to GoodLife, where you get to run into your mom's coworkers and chat about how little Joey is doing. Staff is seamless and pleasant but also not afraid to lace things up if you needed an extra partner to spar after hours. More...
