I bought a three piece suit and had custom shirts made from Blair for my wedding. I received great service from the beginning. Fantastic team that works hard to ensure their clients are satisfied. Very trustworthy because they work with their clients to put them in a suit that makes sense for their budget. I requested a few alterations to the suit and shirts, which they did without question. We went to Blair looking for a custom suit for our wedding. From our first visit we felt welcomed. It's a family business and you can feel it. Blair and his team seemed genuinely interested in learning more about our ceremony, asking us tons of questions before getting to the suit itself. The experience felt amazing. They spent a lot of time with us looking a fabrics and combinations of colors and patterns. There were many fittings and no shortage of customization to make sure the fit was perfect. I wish I could afford custom clothes and this level of service for everything else in my life. These guys are obviously super knowledgeable and trained tailors. You can probably go to Indochino and it would be half the price, but you wouldn't get the same service, not the same fit and not nearly the same experience. The two only things I felt could have been slightly better is the 1) have an all-in price structure (full price with shirt and accessories) and 2) we would sometimes be greeted by one person, then someone else on the team would take over in middle of our appointment. Blair and his team are have a reputation for being one of Vancouver's top tailors, and when you visit you'll know why. I've had Blair make a few suits for me over the past few years, each time doing something unique that I couldn't find in a regular store. Most recently, Blair created a beautiful blue flannel suit for me that is my current favourite. Went to Blair Shapera for my wedding suit, and had only a modest budget. Instead of going for a custom suit, I elected for an off-the-rack option that would then be altered to better fit my measurements. I was given custom options for things like the vest, and Steven, the expert who helped me, was very helpful in steering me in the right direction and giving me advice.I went to the store with ample time before my wedding, and the suit arrived when it was supposed to a couple of weeks later. The fit is excellent, and I'm very happy with my experience. Costs slightly more than a supposedly "custom" suit from Indochino, but the customer service, communication, and end product were all far superior. What a fabulous team.  With an important event coming up in five weeks, I realized my old suits were not going to work and I needed a new one.  I visited Blair Shapera and immediately knew that I was in the right place.  Stephen, Mika and Blair were extremely helpful in finding a material and style that suited me (pun intended).  The suit was ready in time and I am very happy with it.  These people are professionals in every sense.  If you want an inexpensive suit you're probably better off somewhere else, but I feel I got very good value and this suit will undoubtedly see a lot of use in the next few years. Went in for an appointment for myself and 4 others in my wedding party. Blair and his team welcomed us with exceptional service! Even when it got busy his team didn't skip a beat and demonstrated great customer service and attention to detail when it came to helping us with our measurements. During our measurements they were able to find the perfect suit for all of our body types (and our body types very much varied!). When it came to fabrics and customizations, they accomodated for all budgets ( some of my party were willing to splurge while others had a limited budget). I can't wait to see my suit but so far I'm impressed with what we saw. Blair, Stephen, and the rest of the team did an amazing job with my made to measure wedding suit. The whole process was friendly, professional, and stress free. The first day I came in Blair was very welcoming and spent 30 minutes with me explaining the process and helping me choose the right colour for my suit. He gave me his professional opinion but he also gave me space to choose what I had envisioned for my wedding suit.It took a couple months and 2 fittings to get the final product but it was worth the wait. I actually had the suit about 4 months before my wedding, and I actually lost some weight between then so the suit looked a little baggy. This was 1 week before my wedding, and they were able to find time for me to drop in and to quickly alter the suit to fit me perfectly. Free or charge! They actually pinched the suit, keeping some of the fabric hidden, so that they can expand the suit in case I gain any weight again. Their service is worth every penny. More...

I recently had a bespoke suit designed for my wedding by Blair Shapera. He came highly recommended from another designer that was working on a dress for my wife. Blair listens to exactly what you are looking for, and interprets it with various design ideas, fabrics and finishes. His experience and expertise shows in every step of the process. He is very meticulous and makes sure during each fitting that everything is on track and fitting perfectly. I have never owned such a beautifully crafted suit before that fits like this does. So you're about to buy your first suit.  You're going to drop $1000 on something with no idea of how it should fit or what details to choose.  The salesmen can almost smell a rookie as you walk through the door and you're certain you're about to have your hard-earned money taken from you, like a dumb blond walking into a mechanic shop. The solution: Blair Shapera.  Blair will make you feel at home and walk you through the process.  He won't look down at you or make you feel like you have to buy something.  But he will try to make you look as good as he can.  A few things, the made-to-measure suits only change so much after your initial fitting.  If you don't like the style before, it won't magically change afterwards.  One of Blair's strengths is the little adjustments he makes after your suit comes in, just to make it fit a little better.  My only complaint with the process is I wasn't told about getting a monogram for the suit.You can't go wrong with stopping by and seeing what Blair has to offer.  He's the man. I went to Blair Shapera for a custom dress shirt and was very pleased with the results, so much so I've already ordered two more shirts! The first meeting, we talked about what I was looking for, I was showed a variety of fabrics, collar and cuff options and was measured. At my fitting, the shirt only required a very minor alteration which took less than 10 minutes to do while I waited and fit perfect after! I love my new dress shirt and am thrilled that it was done at a reasonable price and in a reasonable amount of time. No more trolling the mall endlessly to find a dress shirts that fit me too big and too small in all the wrong places! Thanks so much Blair! Excellent customer service. I have bought two suits from Blair. One custom, one stock off the shelf. The entire staff is really helpful and assist you with your decisions if needed. Quality seems really good. I cannot comment too much on prices since I have not bought many suits from other places. Blair asks what your budget is so that they can find something that works for you. Best suit and shirt maker in the city! I have been going to Blair for three years now. During that time, I ordered 4 suits (including a tuxedo) and 5 shirts. The fabric quality and cut is what stands out to me. I used to buy from the tailors from Hong Kong but I found that their material quality would get ratty after a year or two. I lost some weight and had one of my suits altered here. Blair is knowledgeable, professional, has a great sense of fashion. He also managed to fit me into a tight deadline because I had a wedding coming up. I really felt taken care of and would definitely come back when I'm in the market for my next suit. The quality of his work was excellent. My suit fits and looks better now than it ever did off the rack. Colleagues noticed the difference right away and offered many compliments. The price was very reasonable. My suit jacket was trimmed down by around one and a half sized and my pants went down about four inches. He did this all for under $100. Other tailors I got quotes from quoted me $250 - $420 for the same work. Blair charges a competitive price for alterations for superb work. It seems to me that some of the other tailors downtown charge wildly unreasonable prices for alterations because they want to discourage altering clothing that they didn't make custom in-house. Went to see Blair to get my bespoke suit for my wedding. Blair and his team were very knowledgeable and friendly. Quality and materials used were top notch. Can't say enough good things about Blair Shapera Custom Clothing!  From the very beginning Mika was extremely helpful going through all my options and ideas for my wedding which at the time was about 6 months away, there was no pressure whatsoever to purchase or anything just genuinely willing to help.  I returned about 3 months later with a vision and decided to go with a midnight navy blue tux, Blair worked his magic to say the least, he took my ideas and made a masterpiece.  I was also buying two additional tuxes for my 2 brothers, 1 of my brothers was in town so it was easy to get fitted, the other brother lives in Australia so you would think it would be difficult to make everything work with him being half way around the world but in fact Blair and everyone at the store made it a breeze getting all the measurements needed and got in contact with him for any questions/concerns when needed.  My Australian brother arrived into town exactly one week before the wedding and we went directly from the airport to meet Blair for his final fitting, the tux fit great with little tailoring needed and the suit was ready to go 3 days later....plenty of time before the big day!  Long story short, Blair and everyone at the store was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and more than accommodating.  From this experience I will most definitely be taking all my future business to Blair Shapera. Blair, you're a genius. Brought in one of my favourite pairs of Wings + Horns pants for a complicated job, and Blair's team did an unbelievable job. You saved them!! One thing I'll say though is that it was quite a bit more than the quote I was given. Blair first estimated that it would cost around $30 to fix, but it came out closer to $60 after tax. I couldn't even be mad because my pants were so perfect. It's only $30, so it doesn't matter, but if you are having an expensive job done, be very clear about the price. I'll be back! More...
