We went there in a group of 4 people and orders kabab duo and dhaba chicken. Both dishes turned out to be very nice. The reason I am giving 5 stars is because it had good food, great service, positive vibe in the place and lastly since the staff was very nice & welcoming.

What a fantastic find in the little village of Unionville!! My wife and I enjoyed some of the best Indian food we've ever had at this wonderful place! We were enthusiastically referred to the new location of Ambiyan on Yonge, near St. Clair (Google doesn’t seem to have it listed yet). We had the Brie Pakora, Butter Chicken & Lamb Roganjosh. Personally my favorite place to get Indian in the GTA. Food is not spicy but well spiced and has lots of flavour. Great food. The menu is quite lengthy, describing each food. The portions were quite big. Nice place to go on Main Street. Service can be improved. No one came to check on us the whole entire time. And the restaurant was not super packed. There was a staff clearing dishes away, she was actually very helpful...but not our waiter. Oh well, cant have it all. I'll still prob go back. This has long been my favorite Indian place. Granted, some nights (when things are busy) they seem to get a little discombobulated and more impersonal. .. but if you happen in here on a slower night when they can give you more special attention, it's well worth it and the friendly nature of the staff truly shines. Main Street can be an insane experience when it's busy. I actually worked at the Starbucks here in the late 90s, so I know how hectic things can be. There's no time to think or breathe when people keep coming and coming and coming. I don't judge the staff at any establishment in Unionville too harshly as a result, as long as you tick all the boxes of reasonable customer service. I can't speak for the pub food they offer at Ambiyan, but when it comes to the Indian cuisine, I'm a fan. I moved out to the Niagara Region for a few years and would regularly drive an hour and forty minutes just to satisfy my craving. Normally I'm wary of restaurants that try to be too many things at once instead of sticking to what they do best, but given the way there's usually someone in the group who doesn't want Indian, it's nice to know that they can't object when there are burgers and other common staples on the menu. Eat here, then grab an ice cream at the Firehall and take a stroll around Toogood Pond. No evening could be better. More...
