Both ladies were professional and fun and enhanced our hair/makeup bridesmaid-bonding experience. Professional stylists; Great for on-site services for larger groups Finding on-site hair and makeup services for my June 2019 wedding in Grand Bend, ON for myself, 6 bridesmaids and 2 mothers, was the most challenging vendor selection of my wedding planning process. I don't wear much makeup, spend no time on my hair, and had no idea how to plan for this aspect of the day. After looking at many vendors, I chose AlyCat. Their large team of professionals was able to accommodate our group and travel to our location. The trial was very helpful in getting my minimalist, clean and simple look right. On the big day, they were very professional, arriving on time, bringing all their own equipment and quickly working through our group. I would have liked them to take a bit more leadership - assigning the order of the girls, clearly communicating timelines, etc. - but it all worked out. My only regret was that after spending so much time getting my look just right during the trial I didn't pay much attention on the day of, and found my hair was actually a bit different than the trial. By the time I noticed, it was too late. These professionals do so much hair and make-up you really have to take ownership of your look and provide clear directions, ideally in a picture, if you have a specific style in mind. A good reminder to any future brides out there! Nevertheless, I was very satisfied with AlyCat's work overall and, although I had my own distractions/stresses, they made my girls and our mom's look like super stars, which is what really matters. We used Alycat Makeup & Hair Artistry for my engagement photos as well as for our wedding day. Last March, my sister and I did a hair and makeup trial with Alice and Thyda and I was impressed by their professionalism and their friendly demeanours. They did a fantastic job and listened to what your vision was. Thyda and Alice did my hair and makeup for my engagement photos and once again did a great job! Finally, Alice and Thyda as well as two additional AlyCat girls did hair and makeup for my wedding day for myself, 6 bridesmaids, mother of the groom, mother of the bride, and my mother’s two cousins. I had a great experience working with Alycat for my wedding. While our wedding was small we had only 6 weeks to prepare from out of town, so it was a bit stressful. Jenn and Alice squeezed me in for a trial run the day before the wedding and did an absolutely amazing job on my hair and makeup. They also did great work for my maid of honour, my mom and my mother-in-law, and very kindly accommodated a last-minute addition. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! They are everything you would expect a top notch professional to be: punctual (early, in fact), knowledgable, patient with questions, skilled. But they are so much more! The are kind, friendly and personable. Having them do hair and makeup for a myself, 14yo, 13yo, and 9yo, is no easy feat (never mind the crying baby running in and out of the room!), but they pulled it off like it was no biggie! They were so lovely with the girls and made everyone, including a make-up novice like myself, feel incredibly relaxed and comfortable. I wasn't sure what to suggest for up-do's for the girls but Jennifer spoke with the girls, got a sense of what they liked, and instantly went to work creating such beautiful and individual hairstyles for them. Alice did such a stunning job with the makeup, making the girls look glamorous but age-appropriate. I was so pleased with my own hair and makeup and received so many compliments that night. They worked so efficiently that we were done on time and all in the comfort and ease of our own home. The only problem I have is now coming up with more reasons to have them return! Alycat makeup was one of the best decisions I could have made in planning my wedding. They showed up at our hotel ready to go and did hair and makeup for me, my mom, sister, and three bridesmaids.
