Samantha is absolutely amazing! We’ve been working on some extra obedience as well as she’s introduced and is training me (mostly) and my pup in the sport of nose work, and I’ve never felt more accomplished with one of my canines this early in their age. She’s kind, caring, knows her stuff, is helpful and such a pleasure to spend that hour of training with! I always leave our sessions full of confidence and so proud of my pup and it’s all thanks to her! Thank you Samantha for everything you teach Bentley and I!

Best dog training facility i have come across for our large breed puppy. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who love dogs. The trainers are more than willing to answer any dog related questions during your session as long as your getting your task for the day accomplished. more good things to say but i think you get the gist. I will be going back for more lessons for sure.

Wonderful training facility and people, all willing to share and encourage each other to achieve. Acceptance of each dog's personality and what ever challenges they bring to the table. The head Nose knows a lot and is capable of guiding at the right time (ie: when the handler is open to hearing it ) and cheering folks on. Even when I think we didn't do well I leave feeling positive with things to mull over and work on.

Lily and I have recently completed a custom program. Her and I both learned so much. I came into training hoping to make improvements on Lily’s focus and her leash walking - which we’ve accomplished both goals, but learned so much more. Another goal was crate introduction. I learned a lot about how my dog was not confident, skittish and needed a lot of encouragement. At the end of five sessions Lily had so many breakthroughs and was so confident in herself. Seeing that even helps boost my confidence with her, knowing that I can get her through new experiences with a bit of my own confidence. During and following training I’ve had so many friends and family compliment Lily and her behaviour, and I can’t thank Vanessa enough for helping us! I would recommend her training programs to anyone.
Upshot Kennels stands out due to our comprehensive approach to dog training, encompassing a blend of traditional and modern techniques tailored to each dog's individual needs. We focus on fostering a positive and enduring relationship between dogs and their owners by emphasizing clear communication, consistency, and ongoing support. Our commitment to both in-person and online sessions ensures a flexible and accessible training experience for a wide range of clients, prioritizing safety and success in every step of the training journey.
The most rewarding aspect of dog training is witnessing the transformation in owners as they build a strong bond and connection with their dogs, seeing the joy and fulfillment that comes from understanding and communicating effectively with their pets.
Numerous reasons can inspire someone to start dog training, including my deep love for dogs, my desire to help pets and their owners build stronger relationships, my fascination with animal behavior, or the wish to contribute positively to the welfare of animals.
Emphasizing the training approach that empowers owners to manage their dogs effectively in my absence can be a strong reason for clients to choose me as their trainer. This focus on equipping owners with the skills and knowledge necessary for ongoing, independent management of their pets can greatly appeal to those seeking a long-term solution and better understanding of their dog's behavior.
I Provide both in-person and online sessions. This flexibility will allow my clients to choose the format that best suits their needs and comfort.
To ensure client safety during training sessions amidst COVID-19, I've implemented various measures, including:
1. **Sanitization:** Regular sanitization of training equipment and areas.
2. **Social distancing:** Maintaining distance and limiting physical contact during sessions.
3. **Masks and protective gear:** Wearing masks and using necessary protective gear.
4. **Outdoor sessions:** Conducting more sessions outdoors to reduce indoor contact.
5. **Virtual consultations:** Offering virtual or remote consultations as an alternative to in-person sessions.
6. **Health checks:** Encouraging health checks and rescheduling in case of illness for both clients and myself.
