I've been coming to this gym for a couple of years and I haven't had any problems what so ever, staff is great and gym is great as well especially it being open 24 hrs, no complaints at all! This is a solid gym if you're a motivated individual who is interested in being in a more hardcore powerlifting or bodybuilding type of environment. This is about the World Gym inside the Westfield Mall.I've been a member for a few years and I have to say I can see a difference. Ever since the management changed (Andrew, new Manager) there is a difference when one walks into the place. You are always greeted and when you leave someone always says something pleasant.I live in a community with two gyms but I come here for the large variety of machines and options to work out with. Overall really nice facilities. The pool area and hot tub area could really use a good cleaning or renew though, multiple areas of what appeared to be mold/ mildew  around the ledges and stairs give you the sense that it'a not maintained.

You know you're about to have a great work out when there is real iron at the gym. They have a lot of things available to you even a CrossFit area to use. One of my favorite pieces equipment that they have in the whole bay area is a shark pit machine. I do recommend this exercise to build your glutes. I know the thing that I was able to try for the first time is a Gluth machine that I've never tried before. I enjoyed using it for the first time but I do wish it was the old-school Glute machine that you add weight. The gym had a nice old-school feel which I do appreciate. They had card equipment from the stairmaster to the bike to treadmills. They had lots of different variations of dumbbells and kettle bells and barbells to use. Another piece equipment that I love is the old-school leg extension machine. they have the option where you can use a standing tanning bed or an additional cost. Another aspect that I like is there is free parking outside the gym. I definitely recommend trying this out if you like real iron and the old-school feel. More...

This is a fabulous gym, conveniently located at the mall.  They open about 5:30 a.m. for those who are up early and want to get their excercise in before the day starts.  I was impressed by the amazing variety of equipment they have for us. Many treadmills, stair stoppers, etc. And they have many of them so you don't have to wait in line for a machine.  You will also find a large variety of free weights and an impressive lineup of other types of excercise equipment. When I first moved to the area, I visited several other workout studios and tried a few classes. Nothing was really clicking for me and I was not impressed that other locations were charging monthly membership rates of almost $200! Then I looked into World Gym and was excited to see that they offer classes I love (Zumba, step, and other group workout sessions) at a very reasonable $19 monthly rate. (They also have a lower $9 rate if you don't want the classes or a $29 rate if you want the HIIT classes.) Plus, I discovered that they were waiving the sign-up fee for the month when I was ready to sign up. (They seem to do this several times a year, so I would check to see if they are running this promotion if you are looking to get a membership.) Although I received all the information about the gym in person, my husband and I were able to sign up for our memberships online without any issues. Since then, I've been loving the classes and instructors. They are all very enthusiastic and I've never been shut out of a class due to overcrowding. (I'm sure I'll have to get to the classes earlier in January when all the "resolutionists" come!) Even though I prefer the classes to the exercise equipment, there are plenty of machines to use and they all seem to be well maintained. They even have a dry sauna available for use in the locker rooms.I really love that the gym reaches out to the members to make sure they are happy. Came on to Yelp after posting a Google Review because I'm literally that motivated to endorse this Gym. I spent time writing it, so am copy/pasting here, but want to say that I'm shocked at any of these less than stellar reviews. I'm Active Duty military and have been a member of several different gyms for over 25 years. This is a great gym, run by a fantastic staff. I don't post often because I am rarely so compelled, but truly want to encourage anyone looking for a membership in the Fairfax area to check this place first. I know I'm right on this and you will be glad you did.Anyways, here is what I originally meant to post (and already shared via google):The best gym membership I've ever had. It's easy to tell for yourself that the quantity, and variety of machines, free weights, racks, cardio, and kinetic fitness space is second to none, what takes time to notice is the people. Specifically the owner his staff, but their attitudes seemed to be contagious amongst members which gave the entire gym a real 'varsity-team/family' atmosphere that was encouraging and motivating to work-out in. Thank you for setting a gym culture that kept me wanting to come back. I'll miss this place and hope to be re-stationed in the area so I can come back...PS - I want to do right by this gym, so I'm going to copy/paste this onto YELP as well.
