Our house was built back in 2001 so the roof naturally needed to be replaced. Several recent hail storms actually took out numerous shingle tiles so the need became more urgent. We reached out to West Quality Construction and they immediately responded to our request. Francois took the time to meet in person and even helped to identify issues with ventilation from the attic as a source of extra wear on the shingle tiles. He gave us three very reasonable quotes, which included replacing the aging and ineffective roof vent along with the shingle replacement. Once we agreed on the package, they came out and were able to promptly finish the job within a single day. The end result was excellent and we are very happy with it.Thank you for a job well done! Francois quoted the jobs within a few days of my inquiry. The quotes were similar to the other contractors, higher on some items and lower on others. The craftsmanship was excellent! We live our new hardy board! Overall a great job on the house/end product. The owners are very conscientious and trustworthy in their business. I would recommend them!A few issues were rectified promptly, Francois and Valerie are very personable and were accessible to discuss any issues.My only constructive comment is with the clarity/process of communication. This could be laid out more clearly to clients, in terms of dealing with an out-sourced crewing. Dealing direct with crew on-site eliminates confusion with the details of a job, but it can be a challenge when one is not sure information has been passed on. Having said that, the crew on the house were very conscientious, polite and talented craftsmen! Initially, we were only looking to have the eaves repaired on one side of the house - but Francois and his team correctly diagnosed that our roof was facing more major issues that would quickly lead to serious problems. Our old tar and gravel roof was beginning to split at the peak (my layman’s explanation!) and it wouldn’t have been long before massive problems followed. Francois gave us a quote, and we sought out two others: his was neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive. We felt he dealt with us fairly and personably, taking the time to answer any and all questions. He explained exactly what was to be done and why, and was very transparent — something that made us feel comfortable moving ahead.His team worked efficiently to get the job done and was very courteous. We were very impressed by the updates and the candor of Francois, who let us know everything that was happening and even completed the project early as the weather allowed. Francois and Valerie are excellent. West Quality did our whole roof, added extra ventilation and insulation and it was at a great price. Francois was fantastic, he met with us in person and walked us through the options. The final price was exactly what his quote was, even though we had a unique situation where it was difficult to get the spray foam in. Our almost 40 year old bungalow had Ice Dam issues on the North side.
I found out about West Quality Construction via the internet. Francois came over shortly after I called to do an assessment. My home did not have insulation baffles (not required by code in 81) and only had R-20 in the attic. The attic ventilation was also insufficient so it was upgraded to R-50. Additional intake and out-take air vents were also installed on my roof to create a much better air flow along with an aluminum soffit upgrade from my plywood soffits. I hired West Quality Construction to redo the roof of our principal residence in Calgary, Alberta. Our house is pretty big, and the crew took 4 1/2 days to complete the job, so not an easy job. Everything was done to perfection! The crew, which is comprised only of employees of West Quality Construction, and no contractors, was very efficient and professional. They were at our property at 8:00am and would leave around 5:00pm. They worked very hard everyday. They had ropes to determine limits around my house for safety for my children. They had their garbage bin and all their equipment to do the job right. I really liked the fact that there was no contractors involved. No one was here to rush and get paid and jump on the other job. They were very professional. You can tell they love what they do and they do it with a very high level of skills and workmanship. Once the work was completed, the owner came to verify that everything was in order. He verified the roof, cleaned the gutters and cleaned the entire property. They removed all nails, plastic and debris from my driveway and the lawn and left the property in a perfect state of cleanliness. I was very impressed! We would highly recommend WQC Roofing. We have a sprawling 4000sf roof and expected the work to take a few days as it did with our last roofer. However, we did not count on WQC crew. They were fantastic.the job was extremely well coordinated, the workers were skilled, tireless and so very pleasant. Our new roof was completed in one day! Not only was their work impeccable but their cleanup at the end of a long day was outstanding and they left with no evidence of having been there; except for our beautiful roof of course.
