Supposedly they do great work but I never got to see it. After paying nearly $2000 for a landscape design, they cancelled my project on me a year after booking them. I had met with Mihal, the owner, last May to discuss my project. Gave them my budget and shared my vision for the backyard. I was told it was totally doable with my budget and that they'd be happy to work with me. I was asked for an immediate deposit on the landscape design as he said this was the first part of the process and I paid it the day after meeting with him. I was told the design would be ready in a month or so and itemized pricing would follow. Months went by with no delivery of design, despite constant follow ups and being told "it would be ready in a week". Summer came and went, then autumn, and still nothing. In December I asked for my deposit back since nothing had been delivered and my project date that had tentatively been booked for the following summer still had not been fully confirmed. I was reassured that a spot was booked for me in August of the following year and that they were just finishing up the design and I'd have it in a week. By January, I still had nothing so followed up yet again. Finally two weeks later I was sent a design that wasn't at all what I had asked for. Initially, I had provided design themes and ideas, photographs, a long list of plants, flowers, and trees I wanted - the plan had none of that. So back to the drawing board they went. After a few more revisions, I finally got a plan I was happy with. I was told that pricing would be delivered in a couple of weeks and that I needed to pay the balance of the design. I did so. Again, months passed and no pricing. Finally, now a year later, I followed up asking to send pricing ASAP as we were just a few months away from start date and my fence would be going up soon. I was ultimately told that they would not be able to work on my project this year at all. So now, I'm out $2K for a design I can't use since they were the only ones in my area able to build a natural swim pond and all other standard pool companies have a 2-3 year waitlist. I feel I was jut ripped off. They clearly had no intention of ever working on my project, strung me along for a year, and robbed me of money. I would not recommend working with this company at all. It seems they will only take on clients with projects in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and throw all other potential clients to the curb. More...

We purchased a cottage that has a lot of beautiful gardens. Being a cottage I really didn't want to be gardening and weeding when I visit. Cheri came in and did an incredible job of cleaning up the gardens and keeping them looking like new. We were so thrilled when we came back to the cottage to see how fresh everything looked. Thank you Cheri - you put a smile on my face :) More...

The beauty that was created by tumber at our home cannot be described by words or pictures. After living at our home for a few years and not being able to enjoy the yard due to it always being wet, we finally decided to start searching for a company that would be able to turn our swamp into a beautiful oasis. After meeting with several different landscape companies and touring properties that they had built in the past nothing truly stood out, it mostly all looked very similar as to what you would see at any other sub division. We then got info regarding a "headwaters house tour" which gave us the opportunity to see 6 great properties and 1 magnificent property which was on another level. That night when we got home we searched tumber and discovered both their website and Instagram account. We contacted tumber and scheduled a consultation. Mihal showed up at our house and we explained to him how we would like to use the space. During this consultation Mihal explained to us the reason as to why our yard was always wet and explained what needs to be done before a single paver, stone, tree, or plant was placed. He then took us to some other projects that they had built in the past and we were absolutely blown away. Making a long story short, we are absolutely amazed with what you guys were able to achieve. Thank you sooo much More...

A beautiful outdoor space should be a place of inspiration and sanctuary - a retreat from the hectic pace of everyday life. It should say welcome home, enjoy, stay awhile. Tumber transformed the rear garden and pool area of the 1970s-era country house that we purchased as our retirement forever home from worn-out and overgrown into a relaxing multi-use, multi-level, 4-season retreat. The project included a revitalized pool and patio area, landscape lighting, perennial gardens, a 4-season cabana with gas fireplace and infrared heaters, a small stream which courses down the back hill to a fish pond, a wooden bridge, a new deck with recessed hot tub, and stones steps to a lower garden and fire pit patio. The project was not without its challenges. The Tumber team had to address drainage issues and work permitting approvals through the local conservation authority. Fortunately, they have experience and expertise with both. Their collaborative and creative approach to planning and decision-making made the whole experience enjoyable and we would highly recommend them. In fact, we hope to work with them again soon on some improvements to the front yard. More...

Randy Tumber has been the landscape designer / contractor of preference for our organization for over 14 years. He has worked on several projects with us. Properties in our portfolio have won several awards, including Landscape Ontario, and Communities In Bloom. Initial project was the design and construction of our Courthouse complex gardens, with extensive plantings in front of the Designated Century old Courthouse. This has, and continues to be a showcase for our organization.Tumber & Associates were engaged to provide design and construction of the landscape elements around 40 Lawrence Ave. Orangeville ( new build), and an expansion of the already extensive gardens to compliment the new courthouse addition, completed in 2011.A level of client understanding, and commitment to each project undertaken, Randy’s vision with respect to design is without equal. Designs are not viewed as just a single project, but a long term strategy. Recognizing that trees, shrubs, and all other aspects will evolve and grow over the lifetime of the property.Randy is a consummate professional, and remains available to discuss his projects, and offer assistance long after the job is done. Randy is very knowledgeable, extremely creative with design, and helped me dream up an amazing master landscape plan for my backyard. We have been implementing this plan in various phases over the past 8 years as I could afford it (with more to come in the future!). Each project has been completed efficiently and professionally by his team, with the results far exceeding my expectations. We were very pleased both with creative design process as well as the finished construction. It has received numerous awards of excellence, both in Canada as well as internationally. As a result of this, we have also had Tumber do work for us on our properties in Toronto, France & Germany, with the consideration of South Africa as well.
In addition, Tumber & Associates have also done the country home of our son who lives in Canada as well.
