Services

There is a place for everyone in art therapy, as we all have the potential for expressing ourselves creatively. In our work together we may draw, paint, work with clay, build things, create a comic book, look at pictures, visualize images, listen to music, knit, write, or talk – the options are endless and completely unique to you. Art can provide a language to describe feelings, thoughts and life experiences that are hard to put into words. The act of creation can also be deeply relaxing and calming, which can help to ease conversation and bring a sense of comfort to the therapy space.

Do you feel overwhelmed and weighed down in your relationship? Are you feeling stuck in the same arguments and issues? Are you considering a break up or separation? Are you stuck in blaming and criticizing each other? Are you feeling like your partner doesn’t hear or understand you? If so, you might feel like you’re the only ones struggling but you are not alone. Together we can work to find solutions, to break unhealthy patterns of communication.

We are passionate about working with children, teens, young adults, and the young at heart! With our younger clients, we typically work from a play-based approach which means our work is done through play. We get to create and use our imaginations to help sort through those experiences that may have been challenging for us. This can look like painting or drawing, creating scenes in the sand tray, engaging in dramatic play with puppets, or plushies, or even ourselves.

Play-based Techniques:
Uses a variety of toys, tools, and textures to connect with kids. Through play, children learn to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways of relating to others. Play is used to help kids express emotions they may not have the words for yet, build confidence, practice regulation, and much more.
