Teeger, my senior cat has been known to swat, bite, and attack groomers. She has never been bathed other than by myself, and has very high anxiety. I found Royal Pets on google, and I have never been so in awe. I spoke with the employees prior to bringing Teeger as I have extreme hesitation sending her anywhere without my company. She had severe matting as she is overweight and hadn't been groomed in well over a year. Even still, they welcomed her with open arms. I had waited a week to order a muzzle for her as I didn't want any harm done, knowing how she had been in the past. . . I informed them of her accidents in the car as we were traveling an hour, and of all her other stressors. They were still more than willing to help my girl out. Upon arriving to pick her up, the ladies had told me she was purring, no biting or swatting. . . she thourally enjoyed her groom. She went in the bath, and was able to be groomed by one groomer. Today, the day after her groom Teeger is the happiest cat. Normally, what would be a week of even looking in my direction. . . she's right back to snuggling up with me, & she's already taken my spot in bed! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! We take our pup to Royal Pets anytime we have to go out of town. The second we arrive my dog gets so excited! He loves the staff and facility!! They provide me with wonderful updates on how his stay went. And he comes home exhausted from all the fun he had. It’s hard leaving your fur baby anywhere. But we trust Royal Pets Hotel! They’re incredible!! And with their various packages you know your pet is getting the proper attention, great exercise and is being loved!!! We had our dog Buddy stay at the Royal Pet Hotel for almost two weeks and he received the BEST care while we are away! The staff at RPH are truly amazing!! We bring our little girl there 1-2x a week. What do you love most about your job?
Sharing the pure joy and love of a confident well adjusted pet! Overcoming the barriers in the way of a family truly enjoying their fur-family is an accomplishment like no other. The teamwork involved between the family, their pet and our team is crucial and an accomplishment that leads to a far better life for the dogs and cats involved.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Being a pet parent of a not one but two special needs dogs meant that travel, another passion of our families, was difficult. Having the benefit of some exceptionally professional and caring, luxury Pet Hotels when we lived in the UK, made the lack thereof, here in Ontario all the more noticeable. Becoming involved in Pet Care and then the opportunity to share the experience we gained from caring for literally thousands of different dogs and cats for days, weeks, months or even year long stays, has been both an honour and a privilege. Formalizing our knowledge and training through certification and partnerships with the experts in each area of service we provide (Vacations, Training, Daycare and Grooming) has provided us with the opportunity to deliver the best service possible and affect real and positive benefits to the lives of exceptional fur-babies across the province.
Why should our clients choose you?
We specialize and understand family pets. Yes we are all certified in animal behaviour and training, but we understand family pets. A traditional kennel is not where your pet is accustomed to living and nor should they become so. This is a member of your family and we will step in as a temporary but recognizable substitute and ensure your pet returns to live with your family as a furry family member.
We let certification, ongoing education and customer feedback combine with our legions of happy guests be the statements of what we do.
We have the only PACCC Operator in Ontario and only the second in Canada. We are charter members of both the IBPSA and The Dog Gurus. All our caregivers are certified in Pet Care and supervised by Registered Veterinary Technicians. Our trainer are members in good standing of the APDT and work with a master trainer to problem solve and develop each customized training plan.

We can meet, greet and discuss and plan remotely, for training. But actual training and all other services are by necessity, hands on.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Our cleaning policies and procedures have always been certified to fight the Corona Family of viruses. We have increased our sanitization, hand washing and mask wearing in relation to human interactions. We will collect and return your pet to and from your vehicle while maintaining 6 feet social distancing. All of our paperwork and permissions are all virtual requiring no contact.
Board and Train - Family Manners
Our Board and Train program for family manners has been developed by one of Ontario’s leading Canine Behavioural Specialists exclusively for Royal Pets. One of our trainers will work with you to decide on a program length to best suit you and your fur family based on your needs, dogs age, breed and human family structure. All day every day your pet will receive instruction on good behaviours with positive reinforcement. No this is not boot camp, this is your fur family, so they will not camp out at a kennel, they will live at a luxury pet hotel with comfortable accommodation, outstanding professional care, lots of love and lots of fun. In fact we make learning fun, all day every day !
Jobs 4 Dogs - Enhanced DayCare (greater than 6 mos)
Our Daycare is not about huge groups of all-day wrestling and running. It is still about play, having fun with dog friends, fresh air and exercise. And it is still about activity all day. But we aren't stopping at play, we are offering what your dog craves: structure, routine and attention while doing that play.
Each structured day is filled with at least 4 different activities, each designed to focus on at least one of those core needs, AND doing it while having fun. Its a mix between, playing with friends (dogs and/or people) and one on one activities and attention.

Pawsitive Puppy Development (8 weeks and up)
A bit like enriched daycare but so much more.
Imagine sending your puppy to preschool every week and they learn good behaviours, and those lessons are constantly and consistently being reinforced. Everything is done at the appropriate stages of development and on a continual basis. Sounds awesome doesn't it ? Thats what our Pawsitive Puppy Development does. Following our Levels Puppy Training you will receive feedback on each stage of your puppies training and what you can be doing at home to enjoy your puppies learning.

Just like with our Puppy training our Behaviour training takes place during a specialized version of “dog daycare”. A regular schedule of day long intervention mixed with fun. Incorporating one on one time with our trainer and caregivers and lots of play and fresh air gives your dog the opportunity to grow in confidence and see learning as fun. Issues with basic family manners are the leading cause of family/pet strife. Everything from a dog that refuses to come back, stay or drop stolen items, leash behaviour or poor reactions to new things, are all things that can be alleviated with better training in family manners. Our trainer will work with you to develop a custom plan to tackle issues you may be having with you and your families enjoyment of your pet.
Groom and Zoom - Dog and Cat Grooming
Designed to be fun and contribute to a lifetime of grooming co-operation, our groom and zoom is a luxury Spaw day like no other.
Ideal for everyone from puppies just learning to be groomed, to seniors who are unable to stand for extended periods. Your pet will have their grooming appointment divided up into smaller time slots and interspersed with fun activities both inside and out. This means we (as in the dogs or cats) don't get frustrated or uncomfortable. The result is a beautifully groomed pet with fond memories of their experience.
