After taking a group class, I signed up for a few private lessons with Desiree. One of my major goals was to work on off-leash walking and recall. This last weekend, I took Luna on a camping trip for the first time. We were gone for 3 days and she was able to spent the vast majority of it roaming free on long line. I was amazed at how she stayed within the boundaries of our group of campsites and how she stuck close to me and followed me everywhere. If she did wander a bit too far, she came quickly every time I called her - despite being a city dog and finding many new smells to explore out in the woods. Everyone kept commenting on how well-behaved she is. Luna was already pretty good dog, but Desiree's guidance helped improve our trust so much. Definitely worth the investment. More...

After realizing we weren’t getting deep enough into our dogs issues on our own, we decided it was time to get some help. We have a senior shepherd x and a younger cane corso, so two big dogs with a bit of a range of social issues.. we completed a set of private training lessons with Desiree and feel like so many doors have been opened for us and are itching to keep practicing things. Desiree was transparent from the beginning and also helped us understand what to expect down the road. The entire staff we dealt with (including some super star practice dogs) were nothing short of encouraging and knowledgeable and helped us and our dogs feel so much more confident! I met Desiree at the Pet Lovers show and my boyfriend encouraged I'd stop and talk to her about my Doxie I rescued who we were experiencing problems in lack of obedience and leash reactivity. Well 4 months after hiring her he is not the same dog compared to when I first got him. I can take him out wherever and he listens and presents himself in a better formation compared to losing his crap at every dog we pass. Desiree helps you understand what your dog is thinking, and points out ways to encourage better manners and how to contribute daily training in with your daily life. Man if I didn't hire her, she probably would of never hired me! I'm so thankful to have met her, she has a special way with dogs and I'm absolutely thrilled I get to learn hands on from her. We met Desiree when our pup was a ball of fur & teeth. Desiree had lots of great training ideas for us & some suggestions on lessons for our pup too! Desiree has a very calm personality, especially around our excited, jumpy puppy. We met Desiree when we had exhausted all options of training for our 2 yr old American bulldog Ozzie who had almost no impulse control and was resistant to training. She found what worked for him and we saw significant changes from 3 lessons with her and take home homework. We decided to do board and train and in two weeks she did more with him than we ever could have. He's a completely different dog and we are so grateful for the progress he has made with her. More...

Lunette and I won the contest for some much needed training lessons!
Our last lesson will be in the next week or two.
..sadly. I love how much I've learned in such a short time! I have calmer walks(still a work in progress but much improvement!), practiced some off leash training and hopefully solved the problem of me turning away from my girl as she runs towards me(am scared of dogs) by getting her to sit when she reaches me!, I can watch a barking dog on TV without mine reacting, I understand to take my girls energy level and get her a little calmer. Our last lesson will be a challenge for me but I'm looking forward to it!
Desiree is calm, patient and very knowledgeable. I loved how she gave examples that I could relate to!
