Daniel was very helpful from the first time we spoke. We were looking for an architect to work with in regards to a potential project we might have had. Unfortunately we did not get the project, and so were unable to hire Daniel. If we had purchased the property we would have hired him. He took his time to answer all my questions. He followed up just at the right time. He is also very knowledgeable. More...

I hired TABC to consult on a building permit application, specifically with fire separation issues. Daniel worked through the Building Code and my drawings to provide me with the required specifications and references. He also made a number of suggestions on the permit drawings which I had prepared. He took the trouble to explain the issues and demonstrated an excellent grasp of the subtleties of the Building Code. TABC also provided review & comment on my final permit application as well as code references to satisfy some additional Building Department requests. I received the permit shortly after submission. I am highly satisfied with the services provide; it's difficult to find an architectural firm willing to work on technical issues without a design component. I would not hesitate to recommend Daniel & TABC. The advice was excellent & the costs more than reasonable. More...

I have worked with Daniel Hall of The Architect Builders Collaborative Inc on several projects over the last few years, recently finishing a kitchen renovation this past spring.

Daniel has always been a pleasure to work with – professional, knowledgeable and organized. Clients enjoy his easy, relaxed manner, his eye for detail and his creative design suggestions. Daniels background and experience with carpentry also gives him a better understanding of how things go together, what works and what doesn’t. He listens to his clients needs and comes up with designs that meet those requirements.

Also, TABC has a strong focus on green design, building healthy and beautiful spaces for their clients to live and work in. Good for his clients and good for the environment.

I would highly recommend Daniel Hall and TABC.

Daniel and his team were professional to the end. They were responsive, on-time and collaborative. We were thrilled to have worked with them and the project was made headache-free because of their attention to detail, and ability to figure out what needed thinking next. As a result, our project was complete in 3 months time, from planning to move-in.

We did a condo kitchen, added 25 new lights, and smoothed out the ceilings, re-did the en-suite bathroom, changed the bedroom walls and door to include closets (walk-in and built-in wall closet). The cost is for the entire renovation, including materials and trades (i.e. not just the planning, drawings/approvals etc, from Daniel and TABC).

Daniel was also able to refer us to reliable tradespeople who they had a working relationship with. We knew we were in good hands from start to finish. We highly recommend!!

We recently worked with architects Daniel and Fred from The Architect Builders Collaborative on a bathroom addition to our 1870's stone house. Adding space to the existing structure was a challenge, particularly with our goal to preserve the heritage character of the building. They were quick to understand our vision, and presented us with several alternatives for a design. The plans we chose were very detailed and addressed the many issues of adding new space to the existing infrastructure - old plumbing, hot water radiator heating, and stone foundation. They diligently monitored the construction as it progressed, ensuring a quality build. The end result was amazing... two exterior stone walls became interior walls, reclaimed barn beam was incorporated in the design, an open concept with the shower. We are more than pleased with the final result. More...

I am a small scale developer. The Architects Builders Collaborative has carried out residential and commercial projects with me and acted as a consultant on a number of projects still in early planning stages. Traversing the complexity of City of Toronto planning , zoning and building is a real strength of ABC. Additionally Daniel Hall has the rare skill of managing to negotiate diplomatically with disparate community elements when seeking approval for a new project. I would highly recommend working with the team. More...

Working with Daniel and Dana was a very positive experience which I would like to share with you. From start to finish, they expertly worked with us through every stage of the process. We wanted our house to be completely modernized and reconfigured to be more user friendly and functional. TABC delivered in spades. Daniel took our ideas of what we wanted and expanded on them with creativity and attention to detail. We were regularly presented with progressive architectural drawings helping us to visualize the final design. Dana assisted with expert design guidance, the choosing of finishes and interior design options. Daniel recommended a choice of excellent builders which we individually interviewed and chose the one we wanted to work with. We had regular meetings and email updates which kept us in the loop throughout. Now our home is functional and beautiful and there is not a single space that doesn't have a useful purpose. We love it. I highly recommend TABC for their knowledge, care, patience, innovation, and ability to stick to a time line and budget. More...

We recently worked with Daniel and TABC on a major gut and renovation of our home and would highly recommend Daniel and his team. Daniel was thorough, responsive and helpful throughout the whole process and was closely involved during both the design/planning stage and during construction itself. Daniel’s design maximized the efficiency and function of our limited space and took into account how our needs might change as our children grow. We appreciated Daniel’s informed input with the countless decisions that had to be made, as well as his emphasis on green design. If we had to repeat the process, we would hire Daniel in a heartbeat. He is thoughtful with a careful attention to detail and helped us renovate our house into a home we will enjoy for many years to come. More...

TABC was a delight to work with. Daniel was patient, accommodating and creative. We had serious space restrictions and he was able to work within our budget to be able to carve us out a beautiful new space from our existing one that totally fits our family. What we have is an elegant, workable and welcoming home now. Daniel's attention to new technology & the mechanical aspects of homes educated us and helped us to make the best choices for both us and the planet. TABC 'babysat' us through the entire process and helped us to make informed decisions as we went. I would heartily recommend anyone who needs to combine common sense with beauty and function to give TABC a serious look. More...

We recently worked with the Architect Builders Collaborative on a basement renovation in the Riverdale area of Toronto. The job was extensive involving a new 4 piece washroom, new HVAC services and custom wall units. The Collaborative is definitely that, it is not just a slogan. The organization encourages its trades to work with the client to help achieve the best result. There are no egos involved. The principal of the company, Daniel Hall, is also very focused on the environmental impact of the building industry. As a result, where possible, all components of the project are sourced and managed with an eye to the environment. We are looking forward to working with the group again and developing a long relationship with them. More...
