That's some delicious Thai food. Their curry it's divine their coconut rice it's soft sweet enough and something out of this world.  They have the same quality everytime and I always order on door dash. Love their mango sticky rice a beautiful mix of coconut rice with the bitter mango softness the best part it's when they changed the fruit for mango ice cream. Damm that's was awesome!! As a coconut aficionado as I am their dishes where coconut enters it's just wow wow wow they won't have a bad word from me on those dishes. I gave Thai box 2 go a try when was out of ideas what to have and I don't regret it and have order from them some 6 times since then. They really make Thai food into a delicacy in all its flavours textures and the way both combine so well. A must try for all who never tried Thai as I did before it surely a great intro to this style of cuisine. More...

I should update my review. The previous 2 stars was because of the lack of service. Food wise, it is good. Pretty authentic. I saw them brought out the tray of condiments (4 containers) when another customer asked for chilies. This confirmed my view that the food was real Thai. The condiments tray was very common in Thailand and Thai restaurants in Southeast Asia. It usually contained cut pickled chilies, chili flakes, cut chilies in fish sauce and sugar. So far I usually have the basil chicken on rice with fried egg. That's my favorite dish as it is very similar to what you get in Thailand. It will be spicy if you asked for hot. I also like the tom kha Soup. It is a bit creamy which toned down the spice level. I can skip the salad and fried wonton skin. Lunch special is still a good deal at about $10 and it is available daily. Sweet. It can get hot dining in during summer when the temperature is high. There is no AC, instead they try to cool the area by using 6-7 misting fans with water tank. It did not work very well. Sit near the open door instead. More...

We stopped in to get take-out because we were in the mood for hibernating and this turned out to be the perfect place for that. We got the Welcome to Thailand set (I know, basic), which was a good amount of food to split between two people. Our food was done really quick (maybe 10 minutes at most) but still wonderful quality. Usually I'm not crazy for spring rolls but these were seriously the best I've had. The person who helped us at the desk was also very sweet. I'd definitely come back to try some of their non-standard thai restaurant fare, but when you need pad thai, you need pad thai ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ More...

We discovered this place through Door Dash one evening where we ordered Pad Thai, Beef with Garlic Sauce and Mango Sticky Rice. I love Thai food especially Pad Thai and this is closer to the authentic pad thai compared to the other Thai restaurants in Vancouver where they're mostly ketchupy tasting. My only complain when we had it delivered was that there wasn't enough sauce for my preference.Fast forward to two weeks after and I decided to have lunch at their actual restaurant in New West. Decor is very Thai and the staff and chef are all Thai -- they were very nice and accommodating. They have lunch specials which are priced very well and serving sizes are good. The pad thai was better since served freshly made and hot and amount of sauce was perfect. Their Thai tea was pretty good too.The second time here was with my husband and we ordered their appetizer platter, Pad Thai (again :D) and Tom Kha Gai lunch set. I enjoyed the satay and the sauce included in the appetizer platter the most  but the calamari and spring rolls were good too. Hubby enjoyed their Pad Thai while the Tom Kha Gai definitely hit the spot for me.Glad we discovered this gem in New West and will be back when we crave Thai food again. Better to eat the food here than have it delivered. Metered parking is available in front and although it is on a busy street, I never had a hard time finding a spot. More...

I found this place reviewed in dinein and decided to try it out for dinner as I was in NewWest anyway. I was very impressed with the service, liked the decor and the food was excellent. I ordered the Green Curry Beef dinner box and the appetizer of salad and chicken skewers came right away. They were delicious and the green curry beef was served up promptly too, by the nicest and most gracious hostess/server I've met in a long time. The beef was tender and hot and I had asked for no eggplant, so was it was served with broccoli and carrots, which were perfectly cooked. I will be back to try the Pad Thai next time. The portions and prices are good for a dinner meal, including appetizer. This is now my new favourite Thai food restaurant. More...

One of  the best Thai places around. I went to Thailand for a months and when I came back I was craving Thai food!! This place is just like being there. You can get Traditional Thai food or Thai food with a western twist. There menu has so many options. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. I recommend the Pad Thai or Mango Sticky Rice. You won't be disappointed! More...

Small restaurant that is very beautifully decorated in traditional Thai style.Friday night dining and we were the only people in the place. No clue why because the food was very good.  I suspect they do good business with take-out as a few people came in to take-away during the 90 minutes were were dining. We ordered the Panang Curry (recommended by our waitress) - delicious.  I'm not a fan of curry dishes in general but have tried a few Thai curry dishes the past few years.  The Panang Curry was the best one I have tasted.  Perfect spiciness, overflowing with sauce.  The white rice is purchased separately. The Tom Kha soup was creamy and the colour of it was perfect.  No spice to it at all, however.  I can't even handle heavy spice but will taste it and I was expecting some heat to this soup as I make Tom Kha using the She Simmers recipe and that recipe is identical to some soups I've tasted in Thailand so I was expecting some spice.  Nope.  Nada!  It was still very flavourful and I'd even order it again. We also shared the 3 course appetizer platter:  calamari, wontons and spring rolls.  The spring rolls were very tasty; the wontons good and the calamari was so-so.The service was very good but then again we were the only table in the place.  Our appetizer came almost immediately: followed by the soup and then the curry dish.  I don't think it was longer than 10 minutes from the time we ordered until all of the dishes were on the table.I would definitely eat here again.  Actually, I'd probably order for take out and cook my own rice at home. We eat here EVERY time we visit New Westminster! Sometimes we will come here twice in one weekend. Our favorite dishes are the papaya salad, massaman curry with tofu and extra vegetables, and spicy fried rice with green beans. This place is usually empty (no idea why) so it's so easy to get a table. Every dish is so flavorful and delicious, ask for a spice rack to add more heat to each bite! More...

Even though this place has been in the neighborhood for a while, it's taken us ages to actually try it out. We ordered 2 dishes, staples as we weren't sure how things would go. Pad Thai with chicken and Panang Curry with prawns. The Pad Thai was great. It was a big portion and had the right amount of sweetness. The Panang was to die for. Great flavor with a good amount of spice. The only thing that will keep me from coming back is that the prices seem a little high for what you get. Yes, the food is great, but it'll be reserved as a treat so I don't break the bank. More...

Fantastic Thai place. I've come here four times so far and find myself coming back whenever I crave Thai. The environment is nice, it's not flashy or lounge like at all. They have the standard Thai restaurant designs and decorations. The food is what stands out. The lettuce wraps are spot on, if a little bit salty. The peanut sauce on broccoli dish is amazing. The sauce is so nice and thick and they put extra crushed peanuts on top. The green curry is also very well done. Its a little bit sweet, a slight bit salty but all delicious. More...

I love Thai food, and yet this little place is the best in all of greater Vancouver! I've tried several dishes and they never disappointed me. I frequently travel to Thailand and the only difference between the quality food there and the food at Thai Box is the price, obviously! Tried several places around here and this place comes closest and that's atmosphere included. My favourite dish is the Penang Curry I crave theirs and only theirs every time I'm hungry! Staff is very friendly and welcoming to me and I'm sure they will be the same to you. Oh and also they have Chang beer (something only familiar to people who are from or have been to Thailand) which is extremely rare around here. So enjoy walking through a portal directly to a restaurant in Bangkok! I recommend this place More...

It is good, but not the earth shattering good that some reviews say. It reminds me of Main St. and Broadway from 25 yrs ago. You could find lots of South Asian restaurants opened by eager immigrants bringing the food they know and doing a really good job. Really good place to hang with friends or even a business lunch. Once i had chicken in a fried basil sauce. Didn't know deep fried basil could taste that good. That one had a good level of chili, but I agree with one of the other reviewers that some dishes are a little too tame.Eager keen service and they did a good job on the renos. Try it. More...
