You have to download an app on your phone to use the room keys. It made sense for social distancing at first, but I have to actually have to touch my phone to the door to get it to work. Not super sanitary and it would be helpful if there was a package of even 1-2 wet wipes in the room amenities, considering the that you have to mask in the common hotel areas and staff aren’t even cleaning rooms that are in use. What’s the point of all that if my phone is getting covered in germs each time I come back to my hotel room? Would’ve appreciated extra towels as well for our two night stay. Considering there is no hand sanitizer in the rooms we went through the hand towels the first evening just washing our hands after coming back to the room. The part that makes me not recommend anyone staying here is the night staff. We came back after a nice dinner out after midnight. The phone key app would not work on the door to get into the hotel lobby (again was putting my phone directly on the scanner GROSS), there is the option to buzz the concierge/staff and we buzzed waited, buzzed waited several times with zero response!!! I even called the hotel which was long distance for me and no answer. Finally after over 15 minutes waiting and getting more and more frustrated someone randomly shows up and thankfully opened the door. No apology, didn’t ask if our phone app thing was working or not. Totally just oblivious to our frustration. Overall was not the best experience in my opinion and put a damper on our anniversary evening. More...

I recommend staying at the Coast when visiting Canmore. It’s located in a quiet location (no traffic noise), the rates are reasonable, the staff is friendly & helpful, the rooms clean & efficiently laid out. It’s a short walk to downtown shopping & restaurants & the Trans Canada Highway is easily accessible. More...

They practice safety protocols like social distancing , hand sanitizers found in the lobby, personnel not allowed to come inside your room. Friendly and hospitable staff. Clean rooms. They have a high regard in saving the environment by using large refillable bottles for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There’s also a filtered water station so that you don’t have to utilized plastic bottles. That’s a big plus. The staff was always ready to address my needs. More...
