About

After years of being a head trainer for other dog businesses, Sarah decided to start her own company at the end of 2022. Sweetgrass Dogs was started with one goal in mind: to enrich the bonds between dogs and the humans who love them.

Being CPDT-KA certified means that Sarah will only use the scientifically proven method of positive reinforcement and keeps her skills up-to-date through continued education.

Q&As

Helping people understand how to communicate with their dog and build a better relationship.

At Sweetgrass Dogs, we understand that in order to see positive changes in our dogs, good training starts with the humans, which is why our belief in and practice of positive reinforcement extends to our clients. We will support you and your dog throughout your training journey with encouragement, feedback and setting you up for success. Our goal has always been to enrich the bonds between dogs and the humans who love them.

We recognize the importance of using scientifically proven methods, certification through reputable institutions, and continuing education by way of seminars, workshops, podcasts and books. There is always more to learn!

I can provide services online, but clients must be willing to regularly record their training sessions for us to review together.

Services

Does your dog bark, growl, snap or lunge at other dogs while on a walk? This is the class for you.

This specialized 7 week class will teach you the ins and outs of your dogs reactivity, how to read and respond to their body language, and valuable skills to improve your daily walks. Each week students will practice and perfect these skills, working together in a safe and supportive environment.

12 x In-person Classes (1hr)

For those looking to be more hands-on with their dog's training and are dedicated to working together for lasting change. We start with an initial session for discovery and goal setting, after which packages can be purchased for 1 or 2 months of weekly coaching sessions.

Allow Sarah to do the heavy lifting of your training plan! This is a 4 week program which starts with an initial consultation to discuss your training goals. After that, Sarah will come to your home twice a week to train your dog. At the end of each week, clients will attend a transfer session to learn their dog’s new skills. Ideal for those needing extra hands-on help with their dog.
