The quality of Stec Photographers is the best I've seen in the Southern Ontario area. Compared to other high-end quality studios (especially in Toronto), Stec's prices are around 1/5 of the rate charged by most studios with similar quality.
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe it involves a number of factors, but one of them is the willingness of the photographer to follow instructions from a client (if the client has a strong opinion on an issue) AND the ability of that same photographer to take full directional control of the situation technically and artistically when a client has no idea of what they want specifically (other than great-looking photos).
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Do you have specific ideas of exactly what you want your photos to look like, or would you like me to just "do my thing" as I feel led artistically and technically?
Please give me as much input as you would like BEFORE the shoot and I will do all in my power to accommodate your requests. Otherwise, I can make all choices of locations, clothing, posing ideas, timing, etc.
What do you love most about your job?
By being as consistent as I am with my final product, I rarely have any clients that are anything short of thrilled. My clients are always trying to be very nice to me which makes me want to be even nicer to them, and that means there are rarely problems and everyone is treated as though they matter and are important!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Honestly, it was the insane prices that my wife was being charged in Toronto to "update" her model portfolio. I knew I had some decent photographic skills, but when I looked at the bill for one photo session and 1 - 8x10 photo, I realized I could buy an entire 35mm camera system and deliver multiple prints for the same price or less! I was right, and that was my launching point!
Why should our clients choose you?
I have more wedding and portrait photography experience than anyone in the Niagara Region (that makes me sound like I'm about 90 years old :(), and my prices are exceptionally low compared to other premium studios in the area. Consider that a good wedding photographer in Niagara will start at around $5K (I can send you some links if you doubt me) and I start at under $2K.
I'm also very easy to get along with, and I can either follow directions from you very well, or I can take full control and let you know exactly how to dress, how to walk, how to stand/pose, locations to use, etc. You will never be able to throw me a metaphorical "curve ball" that will throw me off my game on a photo shoot like a major schedule deviation, bad weather, accident or emergency, etc. I've seen it all and I'll deliver the best product possible given the circumstances.

I cannot do a photo shoot remotely, but I can provide every other service online like the booking process, consultations/meetings, document signing, image deliver, album page proofing, etc.

Commercial Photography
Stec Photographers has served hundreds of commercial clients since opening in 1992 in the heart of the Niagara Region of Ontario. With the help of Photoshop and other software, our dozen specialized camera lenses, 5 camera bodies, LED light panels and studio strobe units, we are well-equipped to tackle any project for businesses including product photos, interior structure photos, staff head shots, or candid/formal coverage of business events.
Portrait Photography
After more than 30 years of photographing portraits, Stec Photographers has more experience than any other photographer in the Niagara Peninsula. From fashion portfolio photography and business headshots, to family portraits and baby photos, we can most certainly handle any portrait project you may have. And, we'll do it for a very fair price of just $300 for a 3 hour shoot and all the high resolution files from the shoot (about 100 - 200 artistically optimized photo files).
