Only a short ways into our sessions but he's professional and kind, and more importantly is asking all the right questions about our pups -- something two other trainers never thought to do.

Would recommend.

I don't even know where to begin here...for anyone who is thinking about bringing a puppy into your family for the first time (or maybe even just the first time in a while), think of it like having a baby - people can tell you how exhausting and hard it is, but it doesn't really mean much until you're living it! And for the record, a new puppy is WAY more work than a newborn 😬PLEASE for the sake of your sanity and relationship with your new fur-baby, consider speaking to Robin about his puppy-preparedness work (ie. what you will need in the first couple of weeks...despite my shopping trips to get puppy-ready, I still ended up at the pet store another 5x over the first 10 days) and puppy training and behaviour work!!

We picked up our 10 week old Rottweiler x Standard Poodle mix, Kai back in July (pics attached for those of you scratching your head asking 'what the heck?!' lol).
I thought I was fairly prepared, I read up on both breeds and asked the breeder a lot of questions. As well-intentioned as this was, it did absolutely nothing to actually prepare me.

After getting comfortable at home, we started to notice that Kai was very "mouthy" aka bitey. She was chewing everything in sight, and was constantly using her handler's bodies as chew toys! It got so bad that by the time I started working with Robin (about a month in?) I truly thought there was something wrong with my pup. There were even periods of time where I thought, there's no way we can keep this dog, she's aggressive and could become dangerous as she grows. If I'm being very honest, had we not had Robin's (and Nana's!) intervention, I don't know that we would still have our girl today.

Through observation and interaction, Robin was quickly able to determine that Kai's behaviour was NOT being driven by aggression and was easily able to see the true sweet nature that was under this crazy pup! LOL
We discovered how incredibly intelligent she is and how much of her lack of intellectual stimulation was affecting her behaviour.
Within the first two weeks of learning how to train her, Kai was able to pick up: Come with hand touch, sit, lay down, look (making eye contact on command), and wait (with treat of meal in front of her).

Kai is 7 months old now and has added: shake a paw/friend, stationary hand touch, catch, she knows the names of her toys, couch and bed, heel, walk with me, she is learning some sign language and is improving her leash manners every day.

I think that one of the easiest and best parts about working with Robin, is that he is really training me. He makes training seem so easy because he is able to explain not just how to teach/unteach a behaviour or command but he also explains the WHY. When I understood the reasoning behind doing something a certain way, it was simple to implement because it just made sense.

Long story long, if you're thinking about or planning to get a puppy, having a hard time understanding your pups needs or behaviours, reach out for a consultation, you will not regret it!!!!!

OH! One last but very important thing (at least it was in my household) - Robin is LGBTQ2+ friendly and accustomed to working with various neuro-diversities 🏳️‍🌈❤️

Robin had posted a video a while back about the calming effects of reggae music on anxious or excited dogs. I thought this was an interesting approach.
Flash forward to this past few days as I'm watching 2 dogs. 1 small white dog who is territorial and doesn't like when other dogs (especially the other dog who is a 7 month old German shepherd) get near me on the couch or in bed. Last night the German Shepherd puppy (regardless of how much we played and walked yesterday) was overwhelmed and wanted to play with the dogs in the house but they didn't went to play. She was whining, barking and scratching at my bedroom door to get out. This went on for about 45 minutes and I was about ready to take her for another walk after dark. I suddenly remembered what Robin had posted about the calming effects of reggae and I played some. Within 3 minutes she went from being anxious and overstimulated at the door to climbing onto my bed and was asleep within 10 minutes. NOT only did this help her, it also seemed to calm and relax the small white dog. She tolerated the German shepherd near her in my bed and they slept peacefully until the pup had to go potty at 3. We came back to bed, turned on the reggae and she went right back to bed.

thanks Robin! you saved my sanity and helped me get sleep for work the next morning.

We adopted our boy, Blu, about 2 years ago. Blu was a rescue who had been abused, abandoned and neglected. We didn't know much about his history, we just knew he fit into our family perfectly! As with so many rescues, Blu has had to work through some trauma responses, and while he LOVES our family to bits he has really struggled with trusting other humans and is very reactive near other dogs. Robin has helped us with behaviour and coping strategies from Day One. Blu trusts and loves Robin so much. Robin really "gets" him! He has helped us with walking strategies, how to introduce new people at home, some basic commands... we have been able to help Blu build trusted relationships with extended family and friends, and have even helped him to be comfortable around some other dogs. Blu has made friends with Robin's dog, Nana, and has 2 puppy cousins he has grown very attached to. Being able to see Blu relax, trust, love and be loved has been the great joy of our lives and Robin has been such a great help! More...
