Tutoring

We had an amazing experience with our French immersion tutor who worked with our child who has ADHD. Marianne has been patient, understanding, and used a variety of engaging and interactive teaching methods to keep our child's attention and interest. Her positive and encouraging attitude made a huge difference in our child's confidence and progress in French. What sets Marianne apart is her ability to tailor the lessons to our child's learning style and needs, and she was always well-prepared for our sessions. Additionally, she has been incredibly accommodating and flexible when it comes to scheduling sessions, which is a huge help for our busy family. We are so grateful to have found such an amazing tutor who truly cares about our child's success in learning French and well being. In just several weeks of working with Marianne we saw a significant improvement in our child's French skills and confidence. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a French immersion tutor. Q&As

I began tutoring FI students shortly after I retired from education in 2019. My goal was to find ways to help FI students from grades 1-5 improve their French literacy skills so that removal from the FI program would be a last resort and not a first.

After 30 years working in French Immersion programs, I wanted to offer parents the opportunity to try structured literacy instruction as a means of helping their child improve their French reading and writing skills. I do not believe that switching a child to an English program should be the only course of action available to a student struggling with reading and writing in French.

My program targets a child's reading and writing issues in a very structured, targeted manner. I began with an assessment of student needs and then teach accordingly. I also conduct formative assessments once concepts are taught to ensure student mastery. Successful teaching lies in knowing your student. I believe that I do a very good job given the methods that I use.

At the moment, I only provide my services remotely. I use a Zoom platform. This is actually a very good platform as it allows me to use interactive tools that engage students. I work with students one on one and do not hold group sessions.

Given that I teach remotely, I do not have to worry about Covid-19 issues.
