Lackey Decorating has actually been around since 1948! It was started by Melissa’s grandfather, Samuel Lackey. Continued on by her father, Tom Lackey in 1982, then by Melissa herself in 2006. It has been a family business for three generations!

I can’t even put down into words how happy we are with Melissa and her team! They have literally transformed our house from yucky early 2000s yellow to sleek and modern grey (I know- grey, but that’s the “in colour” right now people 😅). I feel like we live in a new house! Melissa was super friendly & helped us pick the right shade to accent our kitchen. Her team worked so fast! Literally the hallways, kitchen & living room were done in a day. What do you love most about your job?
I love everything about painting. The opportunity to change someone's house into a home is a responsibility that our team takes very seriously and something that brings us a lot of joy.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am the 3rd generation to run my family's painting company. I have always had a creative side and a keen eye for colour and undertones. In 2000, I decided to join the crew and spent the early years doing all the typical grunt work. I really did start at the bottom and by 2005 I had earned my position as part owner. Then, tragedy struck our family and my father passed away in 2006. I stepped into the sole proprietor role and I feel privileged to provide quality painting services to all our clients.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have covid protocols in place and provide a document detailing the measures we have in place prior to our arrival.
Painting
We paint walls, trim, doors, ceilings, kitchen cupboards, railings, stairs and floors. We offer interior and exterior painting.
Colour Consultation
We are happy to offer free colour advice with all of our booked projects.
