We chose The Norland/LA Chefs Catering for our wedding for two reasons: 1) The venue was Capital-G-Gorgeous, and 2) The accommodating nature of the staff. My now-husband and his family all have a laundry list of severe food allergies and LA Chefs was on the ball the entire time. We had Breakfast for Dinner and it was incredible. Carrie Ann was amazing from the get-go. She stepped in when the original person we were working with moved on to another position, and bent over backwards to make our wedding incredible. She and Chef Dimitri made sure our guests who had dietary restrictions were well served, and even created a new crepe (Nalesniki) bar for our late lunch in honour of our Polish heritage. His dessert ones were the best we've ever had. All the staff made sure everything was professionally run, and even got our decorations and cake packed up so it took little time to take everything home the next day. We have had L.A. Chefs cater many of our corporate events and have always been very pleased with the service and professionalism that they have shown. From the planning stages through billing, we have always been extremely happy with the food and the attentiveness of the staff. There have been several occasions where we have needed a diverse menu because of multiple dietary restrictions, and L.A. Chefs has always been able to come up with delicious options that appeal to the diverse groups we have had on site. Excellent food. Quick service. Friendly staff. However one young man certainly deserves an honorable mention and commendation. We had a brief medical emergency at an event that this group was catering. We did not know where the hospital was in lethbridge. A young man named Mack said he knew and would lead us there. He dropped everything to help a stranger. He was calm and cool and his actions helped to avert what could have turned into a dangerous situation. Well done Mack and thank you. We had our wedding reception at the CoastHotel and Trisha made planning the event a phenomenal experience! She was wonderful to work with. The chefs made a special vegetarian meal for us and prepared a delicious spread of food. The carnivores in our family said the chicken cordon bleu was amazing. They accommodated special food restrictions without hesitation. Alex and the staff were very personable and efficient at clearing plates and brought containers for leftovers. Every April through my job I get to experience all that is LA Chefs. The venue is the same each year but they always come up with a new way to decorate and arrange the space, and with 200+ people attending this can't be an easy feat! And the food... oh lord, the food. Over the years we've had a mashed potato martini bar, oysters on a half shell, BLT's in teeny tiny waffle cones, sushi, crab cakes, chicken wings and delectable desserts. 5 star rating for a 5 star catering company! We took in the NYE Gala festivities last night at the Coast Hotel, and can I just say that was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Each of the courses got better and better, with the main course being cooked to perfection (beef tenderloin). This review is long overdue. My wife and I have attended many, many events catered by LA Chefs over a span of several years and I can honestly say that never, not even once have we ever been disappointed. The food is always exceptional and the service top notch. From inventive delicious salads to mouth watering prime rib, each dish is perfectly presented. I personally have a soft spot for desserts and always look forward to the tasty offerings put forward. I would highly recommend Marci and her team at LA Chefs for any catering needs you may have. You can purchase almost any type of advertising. Be it television, radio, internet ..... BUT the one type of advertising you cannot buy is "word of mouth" and that is the most valuable kind. We had LA Chefs come out and cater our annual staff BBQ. They did an amazing job of getting everything ready, making everything look nice, cleaning up, and especially of cooking the food. Their food is amazing - you won't be disappointed if you ask them to cater. We set up a nice tent/shelter and they set up their tables under there. Not only did they provide the plates, cups and utensils, but they cleared everything away once people were done. The people catering at our BBQ were very nice. While talking on the phone and figuring out the details, the person who planned everything was super helpful and a pleasure to work with. I had the great pleasure of attending the Small Business Christmas Party put on by L.A Chefs on December 15, 2016. The buffet and desserts were awesome. What a wonderful time had by all of the Rogers Sugar employees on Saturday, March 17! The first thing that everyone noticed was the decorating. The room was a fairy tale. Loved it!! Thank you David.The first two people I met were Jason and Michael (the bartenders). Great men and just so helpful!! We drank a lot but only because those guys were good with the shots! From the first conversation with Trisha to the last she was always helpful, quick to respond and willing to provide what was requested and always with a can do; cheerful; willing attitude - thank you Trisha!The decorations - everyone loved the head table brooch back drop. It was so nicely done; the centerpieces where lovely - exactly what we had wanted. The mirror with the seating chart - well we had to buy it need I say more :)LA Caterers: during the dinner Kristine our ES was very attentive to our needs and always with a smile. The breakfast crew where equally accommodating. The guests loved the idea of breakfast as 90% of our guests where from out of town. It gave everyone time to visit in a very relaxed atmosphere (a few did show up in pj's :))The food was amazing for both meals!!The caterers provided us with a box for the cake and plastic + boxes + electrical tape so we could wrap the mirror. We are so grateful to LA Chefs! Our caterer couldn't be reached the week of my sisters wedding. The day before the wedding, we found out the caterer wasn't even in the country! ! We were left stranded! We called a few friends to ask for advice and LA Chefs came highly recommended! We called and they were so helpful! Took on a wedding the day before, and did an amazing job!! The food was superb. The staff that came were professional and very helpful. And the ladies we spoke to at the office were so accommodating and reassuring that everything would be taken care of. We just got married August 1 2015. After a year and a half of planning L.A. Chefs was the one and only constant good thing during the whole process. Starting with Matt our coordinator. Every time we had a question or concern he would get back to us immediately with a solution that made us happy. Now what can you say about that food. I have a lot of cattle farmers in my family and they all said that was the BEST prime rib they have ever had. The turkey was roasted to perfection with a delicious stuffing. The salads were bright and fresh and delicious. And the deserts were delicious with a wide variety of them. The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and just plain amazing.
