Describe your creative process.
I first meet with you via video conference to determine who you are as a business owner, what your business is about, where you want it to go, and how you’re planning to get there. This initial meeting will determine what kind of design you need and give me a good feel for the style that will best reflect your company and resonate with your clients. Once I have an idea of your company and its goals and target audience, I start sketching and send you several concepts. After discussion, I either send you further concepts, or refine the first ideas. Once we’ve settled on a direction, the rest is refinement and a bit of back and forth until we’re both happy with the outcome. Then, to create a cohesive image, I either liaise with whoever will be taking the next steps (your chosen web designer, printer, etc.), or I can simply recommend my favourites.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Most importantly, I require information on the target audience of whatever work I'm designing. Whether its stakeholders for your annual report, clients or customers for your logo, or readers for your book, I need to know when inside and out before I can design the best product to attract and retain them.
After the audience, where your company is going (ie. goals, mission, vision) and where it has been are also important.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to bring out the best of you to show to your audience.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I fell into it, actually. I found clients while still in school, and one led to the next and the next thing I knew, I was a business owner.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have 8+ years of demonstrated design skills, all of it specializing in print design and branding. However, I also have experience and training in traditional and digital art forms, communications and writing, and marketing. I'm also a collaborative minded person: I love working together with other creatives to unite your brand.
