I reached out to Derek hoping to have a knowledgeable coach help me rehab from surgery and an extended break from lifting. Derek met and exceeded all expectations. Great facility. I train With Greg Walsh and he has excellent knowledge and patience. Always texts me post workout to check on the muscle soreness, has made an excellent home work out for the days I don't do personal training. I've been on both sides of training at Raising The Bar. Initially I trained with Clint Clarkson for a few sessions, and enjoying the atmosphere there I opted into coming on as a trainer as well, but due to outside factors unrelated to the gym I didn't get to follow through on that. They're still my top choice for training if I decide to get back into personal training. Shaun and his roster of coaches have cultivated an amazing atmosphere for growth and for comraderie, as well as an amazing network of professionals who are all working toward the same goal. Highly recommend this gym! Extremely clean and well put together. I always struggled going to the gym by myself but once I found my trainer Clinton I was off to the races! Clinton worked with my schedule, created a training plan to focus on areas needing improvement and I always left my training sessions feeling motivated and feeling great! This is a great place to workout and train. The owner Shaun is incredibly knowledgeable in training and nutrition, and keep the facilities in excellent condition. The equipment is top of the line, and new exercise equipment is always showing up. The personal trainers that train out of this facility are also excellent, in particular I have had a great experience with Fabio. Fabio made a workout regiment with my goals in mind, and I am seen results very quickly. I highly recommend Fabio as a personal trainer. More...

I was so excited to start my lifting journey with a trainer at this location! She had advertised her services and was immediately interested. Unfortunately this was three weeks ago and she’s found every excuse under the book to cancel sessions last minute. When I asked for another trainer she seemed quite upset and ended telling me she’s completely moved locations and I’m expected to show up a new location which was 40 minutes away from the first one! I would like to thank Mike Lentz of Fit by Mike for the work he has done with me at Raising the Bar Fitness over the past 6 months. Like many of us Covid put the majority of my physical activities on hold over the past 18 months. Mike has been able to get me back on track in a safe and effective manner and I feel healthier with an increased energy level that I have missed since before Covid. He also tailored my workouts to sports I play and the physical issues I was having. Whether training in person or on-line, sessions with Tyler are fun, challenging and always informative. I’ve never had a trainer whose approach is so wholistic. He truly wants you to live your best life and provides you with the tools to get there. He focuses on the foundations of movement and makes sure you are moving safely and bringing progress into your day to day life. He coaches you on goal setting and helps you work through to overcome any mental barriers you may have so you can reach your goals!! I started working out with Tyler 3 years ago. Initially he was at another studio and when he opened his own training centre I gladly moved with him. Tyler has been an excellent trainer. From the start he determined exactly what I wanted to achieve through training. Several previous trainers had ‘set’ programs and only slightly modified them for me. Tyler created a workout tailored exclusively for what I wanted to achieve. I’m happy to say that Tyler has accomplished exactly what I wanted and more. Being 6’8” my back has bothered me since I was 20. It no longer does!. I can do things now I haven’t done in 40 years. Tyler works with me to ensure every session is effective and safe. During the covid gym closures in Alberta, Tyler has been very effective in conducting virtual workouts to keep my progress going. After having a hip replacement in 2015 I knew I needed to work on regaining and retaining both my flexibility and strength. I knew I was not an open gym type of person and needed someone to help motivate and push me to achieve my goals. I went to three personal trainers before I met Tyler 4 years ago. Tyler spent the time listening to me and determining my limitations and abilities. He has developed and tweaked routines to help me achieve my goals and to show me how far I can go. Tyler has been able to push me past my excuses to make working out both interesting and ‘fun’ - a word I would have never thought synonymous with exercising. I have become that person who likes and looks forward to my weekly sessions with Tyler. Tyler has made adjustments to help push me through slumps, shattered my excuses & taught me the value of investing in myself and to get off the couch. Teaching you the basics of Barbell Strength Training. We will dive deep into how your body can become strong & move well with the barbell. No matter your limitations.

Looking at regaining strength & movement or becoming more fit than before your injury. This is programming for you! Just because you have had hip, knee or shoulder surgery does not mean you can't lift weights or get into the best shape of your life. What you need is the correct plan & approach based on you to become the strongest & most fit you can be for the rest of your life.
