Training with Brock is one of the greatest experiences of my life. His support and encouragement, knowledge and expertise have helped transform me and meet a goal ahead of time In March of this year I was a size 16-18 and today I am overwhelmed and so proud to be 10-12. I am fit, strong and have loads of energy. (psst I’m also 61 years young and a grandmother of many) Of course you also have to change your eating habits and through our sessions we also discussed nutrition. I started at Grit mid January 2019. It had been about 4 years since I had worked out and I wanted to get back into it. I needed to gain my mental and physical fitness back. I love lifting so that was a main focus of mine I wanted to work on. I have always been active and athletic being a competitive figure skater growing up and am now a seasonal landscaper. I devoted my winter/off season to myself and Grit. I worked out two times a week from January to mid April 2019 and still continue at Grit to this day. I was fast to see results and felt amazing after every session I wanted to keep it up. I’m not just saying this Grit got me to my most fittest self ever. It was exactly what I needed. I sought out a personal trainer after a back injury left me unable to get back into shape on my own without causing re-injury. I Googled, “Personal Trainer”, and luckily, I came across Grit Strength & Conditioning and Brock Heshka. I chose Brock because of his knowledge of, not only, health & fitness, but specifically his knowledge of how to strengthen and rehabilitate injuries. I have not been disappointed with my choice for one second!! Brock and his team are excellent at what they do! I have been working out with Brock for almost a year and the growth I’ve had, the strength I’ve built and the confidence that comes with it, could not have been done without his help! I have been training with Brock and his incredible team for just a little over a year now. My mom had originally been training there beforehand and introduced me. Since then, I’ve never looked back. I think it’s safe to say Brock and his team are hands down the most experienced and committed trainers around in Muskoka. They have so much passion and knowledge for all things regarding fitness and health and they’ve truly transformed my life! Brock designs a program specific to each clients goals and makes what once may have seemed impossible to possible. Brock's expertise has been integral to my health and healing journey. A year and a half ago, I was in a car accident which left me in pain and fearful to do the things I did before the accident. I found Brock's website, emailed him and that was 6 months ago. I was never one to prioritize exercise, I am in my late 40's and was not thrilled to join a gym but I knew I had to do something. I am SO GLAD I did! Brock has been a real blessing and he and his staff are non-judgmental, fun to be around and above all - professional and truly skilled trainers. The people he attracts as customers also reflect the warm and inviting atmosphere that Brock has nurtured in his gym. I can sleep now, I am not afraid to do domestic chores, I feel confident and strong. I lost inches and gained muscle. I am very grateful to Brock and I recommend that anyone out there who is at the point where they think that this is as good as it gets... check again! Having a personal trainer with as much passion and knowledge of fitness and nutrition has been crucial for me on my fitness journey, and Brock is just that. Before training with Brock my overall knowledge of working out was minimal, in no time I felt extremely confident in the gym, completing my work outs efficiently as well as properly. The workout plans that Brock specifically designs for each client are challenging however extremely obtainable, making training that much easier. Brock has provided me with the tools and knowledge I need to continue caring for my nutrition, fitness level, and overall health. After just a few weeks of training with Brock I was amazed with my progress. The trainers here truly know how to push clients to limits they didn’t know they had in them. Each workout introduced something new to me, and I was able to work on so many skills and exercises to see a HUGE increase in my ability. Brock new exactly how to correct my form when needed, and I can now execute lifts properly and confidently. The atmosphere is so welcoming, and the gym is full of all kinds of cool equipment. Before I started my workouts with Brock and his crew, I was always tired and as a forty something year old woman I was finding I was losing muscle tone and strength. I work out twice a week with Grit and after 6 months I have more energy, muscle tone is back and my overall outlook on my health now is positive! I would recommend Grit to anyone that is tired of making excuses. These guys gave me proper training and personal guidance, along with loads of encouragement. I have lost 14 lbs and for the first time in a long time I feel like a better me. As an athlete in the off season I wanted to find a trainer who would be able to push me both mentally and physically to gear up for season. I began training with Brock after recovering from a serious concussion. I didn't know who to turn to after gaining several pounds and not feeling confident in my body. Brock welcomed me with open arms, and presented me with a plan I thought was achievable and realistic. He encouraged me, pushed me and taught me so many tips and tricks I will continue to use. I have been going to grit strength with my brother for just over 6 months now and I am so happy and impressed with the results, the training from Brock, and the over all message of putting forth an unreal work ethic! Listen up! If you are looking for a personal trainer who is knowledgeable, dedicated and professional, Brock Heshka is your guy. I have been working with Brock for 7 months now and I can honestly say that he has changed the way I think about my health. There is so much misinformation out there - especially geared towards us 50ish year-old females! Brock is patient. He does his research and is able to chunk our workouts into manageable sessions. I cannot believe how strong I am becoming! He often sends articles and information based on the things that come up during our sessions. I have thoroughly enjoyed training at Grit Strength & Conditioning. Brock is a fantastic trainer and coach. He is super knowledgeable and very professional. He knows how to help you achieve your goals in the most effective way possible, with very personalized workout plans. The workout plans really help to focus in on what you are looking to achieve, whether it is weightless, toning or just to keep active and stay fit. I would highly recommend Brock, and his gym to anyone looking for a fresh start, to stay fit and active or just to just get a good sweat on. When people ask me how Brock is as a trainer I have nothing but good things to say. Not only does he understand the physical side of training but he understands the mental side as well.
