I just ate at Green Rebel in the Rideau Center in Ottawa, ON. today I asked for the Sweet potato Thai soup (because it's vegan). instead, the girl carelessly gave me the Chicken Thai soup. I ate about half of it before I noticed the huge clumps of chicken meat inside. I am a 10 year old vegan, before that I was vegetarian. this careless mistake is a HUGE deal. I an violently ill now and emotional knowing there is chicken flesh inside my stomach. I've been throwing up since I ate the an hour ago. I am extremely disappointed in the staff and with the company for not providing proper labels for their staff to tell the difference between the soups thet are serving. I went back and saw for myself. I could see no visable signs to help them differentiate each soup from one another. This is a huge and dangerous problem. I would like to mention a similar problem happened to me at the same location before. I am allergic to tree nuts, I had asked if there were nuts in the food I was ordering, just to be on the safe side, even though I doubted it because I was ordering Chili. I also read the ingredients up on the board, as did the girl at cash. She said no. I ate a few bites before my throat started to close and my tongue became swollen. I rushed back to ask again and they read the ingredients list and said "oh, there is walnuts in it". Because of these careless mistakes I was hospitalized. WHY does the sign not say in the ingredients listed up on the menu "Walnuts" it has all the other ingredients except one that a very large portion of people are highly allergic to. I an absolutely NEVER eating here again. I urge any other vegans to be extremely careful when ordering from this restaurant or just to avoid it all together. I am so upset and sick over this easily AVOIDABLE mistake. More...

I always look forward to getting the Rebel chicken sandwich on the rare occasion that I'm at the Rideau Centre for lunch. Perhaps a little steep at $9, but considering the quality fresh ingredients it's a nice treat.

I personally love Green Rebel and have never been disappointed in the food or the service. Their bowls are delish, and are the perfect portion size. He decided to go for it and had nothing but positive things to say. The food arrived on time, with amazing presentation and a quality product. I love the Green Rebel! Used to drop by and grab a salad from here for lunch when I used to work in the downtown core. But now it's in Rideau Centre and a lot more conveniently located for me. It's a really healthy option and there are a lot of creative salad choices to go around! I recommend the taco chicken salad for something with a crunchy texture, a tiny bit of spice and creamy ranch sauce :) More...

Food has been a bit hit or miss and they unfortunately changed the menu, removing one of my favorite items. On the plus side, their prices are alright and last time I was there and inquired about said item, the girl working was kind enough to make it for me despite it no longer being on the menu.

Love this place! I have had one of their smoothies, exotic vegetable chips, mint tea and salad. The salad was a lot bigger than happily expected. The customer service was okay... I believe the person that serves me was tired and possibly took one too many shifts. The only ask that I have, is that this awesome little place is only downtown.. lol I would love to see one in orleans or east ottawa. Great for anytime of the day! More...
