My wife and I hired FABRIK Architects to for the design of our new home and we couldn’t have been happier with the service and creativity from the team at FABRIK. Elisia was the lead designer and Architect on the project, that started at the end of 2017. We have now been living in our new home for almost 6 months and we completely understand the value-added of hiring a qualified designer to help make our dream of a custom home a reality! Elisia worked very diligently asking all the right questions in an effort to understand our needs and lifestyle and the final result is a testament to this approach. We continued to engage the services of FABRIK Architects during the construction phase to ensure that the design intent was carried through construction. Elisia was quick to respond to any on site inquiry to ensure that construction was not delayed. She also assisted us in the final deficiencies walk-though with the contractor and followed up till all the work was completed. We were recommended to FABRIK through a good friend and found unparalleled service and piece of mind, which allowed for a reprieve of the burden associated with building a home. Elisia Neves and her assistant Serena Silciliano provided their immense knowledge and counsel to help design a home for us with elaborate amenities which were beyond our scope of vision. Through scheduled meetings, Elisia was able to work through the process with us and walk us through her vision and eventually brought the design to fruition. We had very specific wants and needs and Elisia was able to incorporate them into the design of our home and even built on those ideas to make our design as seamless as possible. We had to follow a set budget and needed some ideas for the façade of our home, keeping in mind a simple modern/contemporary vision, and Elisia used her creativity to make what seemed to be the impossible, possible! The ability to see our design in 3D really helped us to envision what our new home would look like. Elisia was able to provide us with several contacts with respect to our new home build, which eased the process for us. This was very helpful! Elisia also assisted us through the whole permitting process from start to finish, which was such a stress relief. We are so incredibly happy with the outcome of our new home design and the services Elisia and Serena provided were far beyond our expectations. What do you love most about your job?
fabrik started with the goal of working closely with Clients who care for meaningful design, and want to build our community with creative and purposeful spaces. I started the firm with the belief that quality design should be made accessible to everyone. With 10 years of industry experience, I ensure fabrik provides architectural solutions that are poetic and timeless while respecting the past, understanding the present and hinting to the future.
What inspired you to start your own business?
From a young age, I knew that I wanted to be an Entrepreneur. I have always gravitated towards leadership roles, and my passions for business helped me feel comfortable taking the leap into having my own Company. Prior to opening fabrik, I gained over ten years of industry experience working for a series of male led architectural practices both locally and globally. While working at these firms, I often recognized that the value of quality design was compromised to make a profit. I have always considered architectural design to be a form of art rather than a service industry, and was saddened by this reality that is all too often the case at many practices. At the same time, although I continued to gain experience and credibility, I recognized the obvious challenge women in architecture face while pursing promotions and attempting to move up within these companies. After nearly a decade, I knew that the only way to the break this glass-ceiling and create meaningful design solutions was to venture out on my own. I wanted to open an architectural practice that inspired people by designing unique and innovative spaces for our built realm. I'm proud to say that's exactly what I did. fabrik continues to strive for gender and racial equity, while taking a contemporary, transparent, synergistic approach with sustainability as a guiding principle to provide design solutions that express each Client's unique vision and values.

The fabrik team has ten plus years of industry experience providing Project Management in the multi-residential, commercial, municipal and single residential sectors. By taking a collaborative approach, we ensure the proper coordination and communication between our Client, Consultants, and necessary Stakeholders at all phases of a Project.
Construction Administration
The fabrik team has extensive experience providing Construction Administration, where we will work with you, the Client, to coordinate and inspect the contractor's work during construction.
Construction Documentation
During construction documentation, fabrik will prepare drawings, specifications and schedules that define the detailed requirements for the construction of your Project that will be used throughout the construction process.
Interior Design Space Planning
In the early stages of the design process our Team will work with you to draft a plan that defines spatial zones within your Project and the activities that will take place in those zones. Space planning is a fundamental element of the interior design process as it allows our Team to best understand and maximize your spatial needs.
Urban Design
At fabrik, urban design is the process of designing and shaping the physical features of city blocks, neighbourhoods and large master plans, while simultaneously planning for the provision of municipal services to Project residents and visitors.
Tenant Fit-Outs
Our Team will assist you in the process of making your commercial tenant interior space suitable for occupation.
Heritage Integration with New Additions
Our Team of highly qualified individuals have in depth experience in designing new additions to historic buildings in order to extend the longevity of the building and/or meet new programmatic requirements.
Permit Documentation
A building permit is a document issued by the body responsible for enforcing Ontario’s Building Code in your area. At fabrik, our Team can support you in providing the required building permit when you wish to construct, renovate, demolish or change the use of your building.
Residential Remodels, Renovations and Additions
At fabrik, our Team provides home improvement services that consist of upgrades to your existing home’s interior, exterior, and/or other improvements to the property.
Sustainability and Environmental Designs
fabrik's sustainability leader is qualified to assist you in your pursuit of LEED, Zero Carbon, Net Zero, Passive House, WELL, and/or the Living Building Challenge.
Building Code Analysis
fabrik will assist with early discovery of potential code deficiencies in your Project.
Pandemic Responsive Design
fabrik has currently shifted our in-house design team to begin research in to systemic COVID-19 relief design possibilities. By performing this research, Elisia hopes to not only better prepare fabrik for future Projects, but assist in the global effort to reduce the spread of the virus. To assist our in-house team and provide thoughtful feedback, fabrik has assembled and Advisory Board of qualified expert Professionals that range from Pandemic Disease Specialists to Materials Science Engineers.
