From the start Maureen was professional, and straight forward to work with. She was easy to communicate with, always helpful and honest. From our first coffee meeting I knew I wanted to work with Maureen, she was going to make my planning so much easier. Looking back I can't imagine my wedding day having been such a success with out her. As a bride planning most expensive party of your life, you are in uncharted water. No matter how hard you work at it, you are not an event planner. Working with Emerald event I was able to find a level of service that fit my needs and price. I needed help organizing, Maureen gave me the tools to do this better. She was there to guided me through speaking to my venue over menu, she could recommend venders in our area. Our wedding was a week before the Covid 19 shut down in March. The week before our wedding day was full of stress as the new realities settled in. Maureen was a rock. We had to make changes for safety, which Maureen walked me through. On my wedding day, Maureen and Ann had the wheel. I could relax knowing that the details had been figured out and anything that was going wrong was in their capable hands. We hired Maureen from Emerald Events to be our day of coordinator for our August 9th wedding and we couldn't be happier. Prior to hiring her, I was beginning to panic and getting lost in all the wedding planning details as I was planning the majority myself. But from my first meeting with Maureen, a lot of that stress went away as we talked about what kind of vision I wanted for my wedding day. Maureens knowledge, expertise, and connections were beyond helpful during the wedding planning process and I ended up finding our DJ, Florist and Caterer through her recommendations. The actual wedding day itself was perfect and my vision was executed beautifully. If there were any hiccups, I wasn't aware of them as Maureen and her team did an amazing job making sure the day went smoothly. Hiring Maureen as a Partial Planner and Day of Coordinator was honestly the best decision that we made throughout the entire planning process. Her insights, suggestions and knowledge were incredibly valuable, and she saved us from more than one embarrassing mistake. Day-of, Maureen and Anna were rock stars. They kept the schedule on track and, most importantly, dealt with the inevitable hiccups, allowing us to have a truly enjoyable stress-free wedding day. Maureen is truly passionate about her job and consistently went above-and-beyond what we expected, providing extra touches to make our day extra special - I wish there was a six star option. My husband and I recently got married on September 17, 2015 at the John M.S. UBC Boathouse and Maureen was there every step of the way! From our first consultation meeting to the end of the wedding night, Maureen was more than we could ask for. We honestly believe that our special day wouldn't have ran as smoothly as it did if she weren't a part of it. Maureen really kept us on track with our timeline throughout our engagement. She got my husband to whip into shape when he was falling behind on his DIY projects and helped calm me down when I was a mad stress case. Maureen really went above and beyond for us. She was always there for us, would respond promptly, gave us amazing suggestions to help with decor and was very professional. Maureen was working tirelessly the entire wedding and we had several family, friends and out of town guests comment on how incredible she was! My husband was dead against getting a wedding planner at first and we had many arguments about it. Looking back now, he says that "Maureen was the best investment we ever made and we couldn't picture our wedding without her!" He adored her so much that he grabbed the mic from me and gave a special shout out to Maureen during our thank-you speech. Thank you Maureen for making our big day possible. Maureen at Emerald Events can officially add "Coordinated wedding during the storm of the century" to her CV. But let me back up a bit: As we got closer to saying our I Dos, we had a lot figured out already, but I was beginning to realize that the project manager in me could be freaking out about every little detail on The Big Day. We engaged Emerald Events for the "Day of" coordination package, which is really the month leading up to your wedding. We were referred by a friend, and could not have found a better person to be this critical part of our wedding. We found ourselves so aligned with her philosophy and personality: she is organized, confident, responsive and creative, but also relaxed and calm, and really gets you to focus in on what is important to YOU. She asked us about things we hadn't even thought about, confirmed details with all of our vendors, and walked that fine balance between honouring what we wanted for the day and making best-practice recommendations based on her extensive knowledge. After she ran our wedding rehearsal I joked that she had already been worth every penny - she kept everything smooth and on-track so we could just enjoy the moment. Little did I know... that we would get married on the day (August 29, 2015) of the storm that left 600,000 of us in the Lower Mainland without power - including our VENUE. If I thought Maureen was worth every penny before, I soon realized that she was actually worth her weight in gold. I'm sure you brides can relate when I say it was not my dream to find out that it was raining AND there was no power on my wedding day. But get this: by the time she called to let us know there was no power, she had already figured out the Plan B. And despite everything, through her efforts (and our other amazing vendors) we had a beautiful, classy wedding full of love, laughter and romance. My Fiancee and I were of the mindset that having a day of coordinator would relieve so much of our stress and allow us to actually enjoy our wedding day. I found Maureen of Emerald Events online and literally could not have been happier with her services. She handled all of contracts, made contact with every one of our suppliers, ensured they would arrive on time and ready on the day of. She helped us develop a day of timeline, attended our rehearsal, took photos and came prepared with our ceremony music, in addition she set up our tables over an above what the decorators where contracted to do. From start to finish Maureen was profession, organized and AMAZING. I would recommend Maureen and Emerald Events to anyone needing event planning or wedding planning services, in fact I have referred her name to several friends already.
