Perhaps this course would be good if you have never owned a dog but I found they were asking us to do things at such a basic level it was regression for my pup. No options to build on what my pup already knew.
“Socializing” meant letting the pups play while on very long leashes which was worrisome as they were constantly tangled.
Do not recommend. I would have been better with a puppy obedience class.

10 STARS!!!!We brought our rescue pup to the Dogue Shop for puppy classes, and adolescent classes. It was the best decision we made! Gaby and her staff are extremely knowledgeable, very patient with the dogs, welcoming to the owners, and teach you everything you need to know abut training your dog. After many phone calls to different puppy class places, we finally landed on this one that really matched what we were looking for. We never had to use ridiculous things like choke chains, e-collars, or even yelling, to teach our dog to be well-mannered. This science-based, positive reinforcement approach to animals training worked perfectly for us and we would do it over again!! (with our next dog!)Anytime we had a specific issue at home, we would ask Gaby about it and she would help us solve the problem. The best part is that the classes are small so she can shift the content to the people/dog's needs. Our dog has become such a good boy thanks to the Dogue Shop. I would highly encourage EVERYONE to bring their dog to Gaby's classes! You really can't go wrong! More...

We brought our 11-month old poodle for training w 2 other dogs. I'm a first-time dog owner and had a very positive experience and learned a lot of tools for further training at home. Less expensive than a private trainer and helpful to interact with other dogs. It's really hard to sit when other dogs are getting treats next to you! More...

After taking an initial puppy socialization course we decided to take theirs to get our dog as much socialization as possible. The difference in both courses was noticeable. Their approach to training was personally much more to my liking and in depth. They took their time (a lot of time) to answer all our questions about training and puppy worries. We are very happy to write this review and highly recommend it if you want a class that focuses on Understanding your dogs and his sign as well as other dogs as well as a more clicker training focused approach. To Randy, Shannon and Gaby (as well as harriot and albert) Thank you so much for being patient with us and our little(slightly bigger now) dog! We look forward to taking the adolescent class! More...

Best place for my dog and me. Knowledgeable and straight forward, Gaby answered all my questions and gave me an honest assessment of the training I need to do with Bose, my reactive Staffie.

There is no other place in terms of training and teaching like it of its kind, Gaby is beyond amazing with the animals and their people. She has set a precedent in Social cognitive learning, the world will have to catch up to Gabys expertise in all aspects. She has set the foundation for training, her seminars are beyond informative, her classes for the animals are fun, and innovative, she is one of the very few to teach true DOGA, and her animal assisted therapy program is incredible. An author, teacher, an incredible person. More...

We brought our 10 week old puppy to Gabby for training because we wanted to make sure we knew how to properly teach him to become a "civilized" dog and we were very impressed with her expert knowledge and understanding of dogs. The moment we walked in, Gabby greeted our puppy and he took an immediate liking to her. She quickly demonstrated to us how to communicate with dogs so that they listen to you all the time instead of whenever they feel like it. She uses strictly positive reinforcement techniques and they work like a charm. Not once during our three lessons did she have to scold or punish our puppy in any way. She was in command of his actions without having to resort to anything but communicating with the dog with her voice and body language. We've covered lots of topics, such as teaching our puppy how not to chew on our shoes, how to "manipulate" him to exhibit the behaviors we like, how to potty train him, how to play brain games to both entertain and occupy him, and many other things. In addition, Gabby has an amazing dog with her during training in order to help socialize your puppy. His name is Albear, she'll tell you why;). He's a BIG dog, but so gentle with puppies. He tried to interact with our puppy even when the latter was so scared of him that he kept running away and hiding inside the enclosure of a stool chair. Eventually, Albear lowered himself to be the same height as our little baby and he finally stopped being afraid. This is how smart Albear is -- he goes out of his way to make friends and is a great mentor to less trained dogs.So if you have a new puppy and aren't already an expert in training dogs, even if you've already had another dog previously like me, then I recommend you pay Gabby a visit.
