To the owner and prospective guests of the INN........The staff working here did an excellent job and did everything they could do to help me during the stay including clreaning. The owner, however, is the problem. I hope he will realize his negligence and what can be seen as a disrespectful attitude towards the guests.As a resident of the area with many family members living in Strathroy, I'm deeply disappointed that such a historic building is so poorly maintained. The lack of sincerity from the owner in terms of taking responsibility for properly maintaining the rooms is disheartening. It also seems apparent that he cares more about his restaurant customers than hotel guests, whom he may consider one-time customers. If you choose to operate this type of British-style accommodation, you should take responsibility and consider the intentions of the customers who choose this type of hotel.・My booking was Queen Elizabeth (bathtub & window) but unbenounced to me of any of the staff, the owner changed my room to the Princess of Wales (No window), ofc I was disappointed and wasted everyon's time to deal with this trouble. As it turns out Q Elizabeth was not supposed to be available for booking due to the door lock being broken they said, however, he failed to update the websites.・The staff then offered me King George but I found that it had no bathtub after ariiving at the room, what a waste of my time. The staff were given incorrect photos files, that's not their fault tho. Once again, the owner doesn't care about this side of business and certainly is not concerned with customer satisfaction.・Thankfully, due to the excellent help of the staff, they were able to find me the Prince Albert (it took almost 1h since I arrived to get the room), but the maintenance of the room was terrible. The fabric was torn, the carpet was wavy, there was a letter saying the shower was broken, the plumbing and drains for the bathtub and its accompanying shower wand were leaking , and instead of the English-style bedspread as shown on the website it was just a plain black bedspread.・There is a gap between the pictures on the website and reality and I also noticed some wrong infomation here and there on different website and the reality. It's very obvious the owner avoids doing even the most basic of maintenance.・When I made my booking, I asked if the restaurant had a special birthday dishes but unsurprisingly, I got no response.There are various aspects that I find concerning and this accommodation seems to operate more like an Airbnb rather than a typical hotel. I very much enjoy my meals at the Clocktower. Every friend I bring along is never disappointed for a handful of reasons. The historical atmosphere and diversity of the menu are great contributing factors but one thing I would like to highlight specifically is the staff. The last couple of visits I have had the pleasure of being served by a very bubbly server who is always polite and attentive. I do a lot of traveling for work and stay in a lot of places along my travels, I found this place on line so booked and stayed for work in the Princess of whales room 3 nights, I have to be honest I was a little disappointed upon my arrival. When it over the phone, I asked the person on the phone if this was a a bed breakfast, she said no. So I booked it thinking it was like a hotel.I arrive at the front door to find no one is around to greet me, except for a note on the door that says call a number for the keys, I called and they gave a code to open a box to get my key. Great.I open the front door, only to find I now have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to my room, again was not told at time of booking I had to do this, (I do have a bad knee) and now I have to carry my personnel belongings up all those steps. I arrive to the top floor open the first room door and find a bed that looks like someone was sleeping in it. then i tried the other room figured it was mine to stay in (so my keys opens to different doors. Hummmmm!!!!! good security!I now settle in, was not told I didn't have my own microware /or fridge in the room, while I was trying to find the correct room, I find a common with a kitchen (again I was not told at time of booking). I open the fridge door to put my food in, light doesn't work in the fridge to see anything, had to use my phone as light what do i see a old block of open butter and expired milk containers. if going into this area after dark with very poor lighting, hard to see anything. looking at the counter to find dirty wines glasses.I now am settled in for the night, no call to make sure all is well! ok np! the room is cool I turn the fire place on ,no heat, I find a remote for the heating system with no explanation how it works, once I figure it out after an hr, sleeping though the night the heater is making these loud noise that kept waking up.Wake up next morning to shower only to find the shower in rough shape (see photos) and shower drain is not draining quickly now your stepping in water.lastly after 3 days of staying there, upon leaving I have a note that says leaves keys in room when leaving.Thank you for the great experience! We had a wonderful lunch there Good Friday. From the moment we walked in we were treated so well. The hostess definitely was the mostest. 👍Friendly smiles, accommodating and our lunch was fantastic. Went with my partner for a few days to get out of the city and the inn was just what the doctor ordered. Beautiful room. Excellent service. The common area for snacking was a nice little extra, came in handy. Went for dinner at the restaurant the second night and the food was awesome and reasonably priced for for what you get which is delicious. Truly. My compliments to the owner and Chef. My wife and I wanted to support more of the local restaurants and business instead of driving into London for food and everything else . We ordered burgers , fries and the French onion soup . The French onion soup was pretty good , although I don’t know if it was emmental or something else for the cheese but it was still fairly good with lots of flavour .The burger and fries on the other hand were very disappointing. The fries tasted very old and had a rancid oil flavour with zero seasoning , not even a pinch of salt .The burger was just bad . Dry and chewy burger with zero flavour and colour , it was grey on the inside . The bun was average .My wife and I didn’t even finish 1/5th of the fries and struggled to finish the burger .I had really high hopes after having several clients suggest eating here . But after what should be a simpler thing on the menu being poorly prepared with low level of care , it would be hard to give it another try sadly . More...

Myself, my sister and a friend went here for lunch yesterday and 2 of us had the special ( black forest ham and Swiss on a croissant) and it was soooo good! ! Price was good, and the portions were perfect!! My sister had the cream soup and the beet and feta salad. She loved it and she ate it all!! The service was amazing, the food came quickly and was hot. As a group of 21, we recently held my mother's 90th birthday dinner at The Clock Tower. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the excellent service. From cocktails before being seated, to the delicious food served! Every detail we asked for was set and ready. This is our favourite date night restaurant. We also enjoy bringing friends there. The atmosphere is relaxing, elegant and very well maintained. The food is the best part. The size of the menu is perfect. The specials are usually are picks. The food is prepared in a good amount of time, not too fast that you feel rushed. We had an amazing dinner tonight for our Anniversary. Excellent service, food & company. We both opted for the Fall special, I can't recommend it enough. The plating made it look too good to eat. Chef Mark and the crew provided an extraordinary meal for our daughters wedding. From the first meeting, the communication, attention to detail and excellent service ensured a spectacular experience for our guests. An incredible feat for off-site service of 140 at a private residence. Appetizers were scrumptious. Plated dinner was plentiful, delicious and hot - served without delay. Great Hotel, its small and because of that has a great vibe and i would stay here again. The rooms all are clean and tastefully decorated. We stayed with 6 couples as we were in town for wedding, not all rooms have showers but they have large victorian tubs, just ask. The kitchen area has a home like feel with coffee, juice and water and light breakfast. This hotel is not for you if cannot manage two flights of stairs and if you can it's a gem, a Victorian oasis in a sea of chain / box type hotels. More...

We were so happy to find this charming local restaurant after an appointment at the hospital. We were seated and waited on promptly by a polite and friendly waiter. The food was great!
