In Response to Capitol Security’s reply mistakenly noted under Beverly Goodwin’s review 3 March 2021 regarding Mr. Harvey’s review 3 Nov 2021.
Using a consumer advocate's advice, I notified Capitol Security of my intention to post a review as a courtesy. Since my review was not positive, they have labeled it as an attempt to smear and extort them. This review is ONLY my perspective on the company's actions and communication with me, all supported by records. I have posted my original points that include my side of the events. Note, they have changed their story on the price difference. Up until now, Capitol Security has been adamant the $10 increase was due to the addition of a temperature sensor, but here say it is due to upgrading to a cellular service which was actually in place prior to them. I stand by my review - that’s what customers do in sharing views and experiences.

What started off as not realizing it wasn't our existing security company we were dealing with at the door, it went downhill from there. However, the technicians did a great job installing what their work order must have described, and demonstrating the new panel. Since then, though...There have been unfulfilled promises and delays in delivering to us our agreement and its terms and conditions (I'm still waiting for them to forward me the auto-generated email with our agreement attached that was supposedly sent in July.); there was the installation for sensors we declined, and now billing for monitoring we didn't want; the most glaring is the lack of professionalism in their correspondence, and dismal service in dealing with customer concerns. Despite the agreement indicating that services were not accepted and many opportunities to correct what shows to be an oversight, the company refuses to amend their invoice; some would consider these unsavory business practices.

Ask yourself, do you want to do business with a company having this low of a level of customer care? Should you, regardless of my experience, engage with them, I suggest you don’t worry so much about what you signed, but ensure you receive within DAYS the system's auto-generated email with the agreement and its Terms and Conditions attached, then read EVERY LINE to ensure it is everything YOU want. I changed my monitoring system over to Capitol Security. The change over was simple and easy. The two gentlemen that installed the new system, "Capitol Securities", were very business liked and professional and took the time to answer any questions I asked and explained the new monitor system that they installed so as it would be a easy transaction. I will let anyone of my friends no all about Capitol Securities if they are looking for a security system and I will even provide them with your phone number too. Mr Harvey, as you are aware we strongly disagree with your 'review'. You signed up with us, agreed to everything both verbally and in writing. You then came back 5 months later and wanted a lower rate and claimed that you didnt agree to having environmental sensors installed, which you had originally signed for, and wanted yoru rate lowered by $5. You have sent us no less than 4 dozen emails. phone calls, or messages to debate this $5 a month charge. As repeatedly explained we either need to neglect and overlook what you signed for and accept your verbal word after the fact, or not accept your verbal word now and accept your written acknowledgment, either way you are contradicting yourself. You have received no less than 4 copies of your contract, each time we send you the same copy, but still debate that it was never sent originally as you cant find it in your email.

We were with another home security provider that was doing the job, but in the event of an alarm, the call center was in the southern US. There was only one field service unit in central AB and it was a chore getting them out. Capitol Security upgraded all of the equipment in the house and added sensors at NO cost. The monitoring and service is local, which is a big plus in our opinion. The was taken care of by Capitol entirely and so far, their customer service has been top shelf. More...
