After being advised by the city that our old water meter needed replacing and that the downstream shut off had to be replaced by a plumber before they proceeded with the work we contacted Cambie Plumbing. They squeezed us in to a busy pre Xmas schedule. The plumber was prompt and courteous. Instead of proceeding with what could have been an expensive job, he pointed out that a functional downstream valve already existed further upstream. cambie plumbing was great with us.
we suspected the machine gun sound in our strata building walls was the plumbing in our walls, even though previous plumbers were sure it was not.
before cutting more holes in our walls we contacted cambie plumbing and asked them to do a preliminary investigation - an unusual request as we were not sure at all what was going on.
cambie plumbing listened carefully to our observations and sent an excellent fellow to tour and review our building from the sprinkler room to all the affected units.
punctual, polite, and serious, he took in all the info and made a preliminary diagnosis that he followed up with more research and determined that our pressure regulating valve was shot and was most likely the cause of all our trouble.
we went ahead with the work order and the work was done quickly and efficiently with excellent communication from start to finish.
we now have nice quiet walls and normalized water pressure throughout the building.
in the one hour initial visit, cambie plumbing did what all the previous plumbers could not do - diagnose our troubles correctly.
we are very happy with the whole process and will certainly use them again and i would confidently recommend them.

I've had occasion to need a plumber twice recently for separate issues at my home. Cambie has come to the rescue!
Dan on the dispatch end asks the right questions and knows what to prep the technician for, and Paul gives exemplary service, not only repairing the current problem but offering advice on any other questions regarding upcoming projects, in my case replacing my hot water tank down the road.
It was nice having Paul attend the calls both times, kind of like my own personal plumber, and he gets an idea of the layout around here.
The service is prompt and the price is reasonable, just what you would expect from their website.

In the count down to a busy and houseguest rich Christmas week, my hot water heater was on its very last legs. After one supplier balked at the tricky installation of a new heater in our hard to access crawl space, siting the need for (and a two week delay) a crew of carpenters to dismantle and then rebuild the narrow staircase, the guys from Cambie came in and did all the work necessary, and installed our new hot water heater in a matter of hours. I had bought a new gas stove. The old stove was to be taken away at the same time the new one was going to be delivered, so I needed someone to come to disconnect the old stove, then return to connect the new stove. I called Cambie Plumbing and they said they did this kind of job quite often, and that they had people properly certified to do the work.The gas fitter came at the scheduled time to disconnect the old stove, then returned later that day to connect the new stove. He was very professional, had all the proper equipment including a gas detector, and did a great job. Total cost was $125 plus cost of parts.I would recommend Cambie Plumbing if you are looking for someone to properly connect your gas stove. Cambie Plumbing and Heating fitted the gas pipe for me in December at a busy time of year, I was extremely happy with their work. Recently I purchased a range from Home Depot (Home Depot have been a nightmare from delivery to installation). I am grateful to Dan for getting someone out to fix the gas leak on the input line to our cooker as quickly as he did. Phoned at about 1pm, came out by 4:30pm. All fixed by 5:30. Alleviated a lot of stress.
I also wanted to mention that Dan dealt with some follow up queries and feedback very professionally and I was impressed with the customer service he gave me.

Very good experience. Sally was a pleasant receptionist who understood my issue and booked the appointment at a time convenient to me. Paul showed up right on time and was courteous and competent. After a quick diagnosis he made a reasonable recommendation on the first parts to replace. As the first stage did not fix the problem he moved onto the second recommendation which was also reasonable. The second part replacement got the system going and I thought we were done but had to call Paul back to tweak something; and he came back promptly for the fix. 2 days later Dan called to work out the extra charge and all is good. Called for a clog drain. They don't do fix pricing. Its by the hour but I understand all places are by hour these days. And also they don't know how long it will take so made total sense. Per hour is $125. They will be able to unclog your drain easily. The clog was removed in less than an hour and still being charged for the hour.We used them couple times. In the past, they had a coupon on their website saying first time customer $50 off first call. Last time just check they have removed that deal. Well its ok, luckily I have used mine 3 years ago. But I remember 3 years ago, they charge $115 per hour. So already got the deal out of it and won't apply to me this time.Very professional but also if you call they won't show up right away unless its a serious emergency. So you have to make an appointment but if its easy plumbing issue they are able to come on the day assuming you call early. More...
