Amazing cajun cuisine, some of the best comfort food in town can be found here. Menu used to be larger but has recently been shortened, and the quality has certainly gone up as a result. Their Po-boy sandwiches are some of the best sandwiches in town. The portions are humongous for the price point, which is moderate for what you get. Servers are friendly and are happy to recommend some of their favorites. Service is somewhat slow even on a quiet day which can be a hinderence to anyone hoping to just get a quick bite to eat. Location is also a huge problem, given that it is downtown, many people who will want to eat here may have to park quite a ways away to get a chance to eat here. Atmosphere is very well done, the scenery and music choices give the customer a true feeling of southern cuisine and comfort. Biggest complaint....they ran out of beignets!   I went on a Sunday night at 7:30pm assuming it would be slow.  It was fairly busy but I did not have to wait for a table.  It was my first time at this restaurant so I discussed the menu with the waitress.  I even commented I was looking forward to trying the beignets for dessert.  Waitress was nice and friendly.  Food was good.  Atmosphere is fun and very much feels like Louisiana.  Overall a good experience.  But they ran out of beignets!   How can you run out something so important?   If you go I hope you can try the beignets and let me know if they are good. Wow was surprised at a few bad reviews.  I've always been pleased with both my meals and service, and the atmosphere is probably one of the best in town: unique unlike most of the pubs.  It's a little pricey i guess but compared to many pubs etc in the area, on par.  I've come here several times including a Sunday brunch and never been disappointed.  Firebird blew my mind!  I dare you to get it. okay, so this place. Bon temps. Decor is badass, just waiting for Dixieland to show up. Love it:) My lack of makeup and the newly found blemish on my chin were incognito thanks to the lighting. A star for that :D the service was just peachy fine,  (including the gentlemen behind the bar). Our waitress was super knowledgeable about the wines from what i could tell, since I know jack shit about wine. It's red, it's white, and sometimes from a box.THE FOOD:I ordered the Blackened Chicken Burger with cajunslaw.  Chicken was so moist and tender, very flavourful. I had to use both hands,(mainly because I struggled to cut it half) Anyway, Good burger.  The cajunslaw is not for me. We had a great meal. The peel eat shrimp starter was excellent. The crab cakes were great but we all agreed that the shrimp were better. Two of us had  seafood creole and honestly it was very very good. The other entree our group ordered was the grilled shrimp and that also got a positive evaluation. Have gone numerous times to their Sunday brunch. Have not yet sampled their lunch/dinner menus and service.Brunch is amazing. Great selection of comfort-style foods that hit the spot no matter what. On top of the great food and friendly service, the establishment brings in a bluegrass band who fiddle around and play some great music as you dine.The brunch is still relatively new; I asked if any fresh juices were available and got a no. This place has a great atmosphere and in my whole trip there was nothing much to complain about, but I only give it 4 stars because I've had better New Orleans-style food before. Fun atmosphere with lots of details and medium-sized menu. Not much on the appetizer menu appealed to me so I stuck with a main -- seafood creole -- and saved room for dessert. The shrimp creole was pretty well-seasoned -- I would have preferred a bit more salt but I like things salty. I ordered it au gratin and they didn't skimp on the cheese on top. However, I had a hard time finding any of the seafood other than the shrimp because the other pieces of seafood were very small, even the scallops, which I think I had 2 or 3 of.For dessert, I didn't see a menu but the bartender recommended the cheesecake special which that day was maple bacon toffee, and it was great. This was my last meal in Saskatoon before I moved for good and what a way to say goodbye to the city. The experience was marvelous! We got the crawfish boil (need atleast 6 people) and it was crazy fun! they come out banging pots and pans and the chef dumps an entire pot of steaming seafood (mussels, crawfish, shrimp etc), sausage, corn, and potatoes on your table. What a wonderful place. If sitting in lounge ensure Josiah serves you. He's a killer bartender & makes the best dirty martini. Stuart was our server in main restaurant & was wonderful. We came in out of the rain Sat. night to the warmth of the Bon Temps Cafe. I had the bourbon chicken and my husband had the special - the blackened catfish. The chicken was moist and sweet and the catfish was spicy. The little pieces of corn on the cob are a great side. The veggie jambalaya was very good.
