You may be coping with other responsibilities such as work, children, and finances and may put yourself last on the list of things to take care of. Often caregivers hide their difficulties and pretend that they can deal with everything. Not taking care of yourself can have a negative effect on your health resulting in sleep problems, depression, and anxiety.

If this sounds familiar then you are on the road to caregiver burnout.

It is important to remember to take the time to look after yourself as well as your loved one. Be honest with yourself about what you can do. Think about what is most important, and put aside what is not.

Caregivers remain at the client’s residence for as long as the client needs help. We can provide one or more caregivers to cover 12 and 24-hour shifts.

We are happy to offer round-the-clock assistance to seniors in need of live-in services. When this level of care is required, we make sure to provide support from our most highly qualified caregivers. This means you or your loved one can remain at home with total peace of mind and assurance.

Companionship is for seniors who are generally healthy and who want to remain independent at home. Although companion care focuses on seniors in their own homes, it can be provided to those in nursing homes and assisted senior living facilities.

Older adults living independently often experience loneliness and isolation, and companions engage in conversation, take walks with their care recipients, play games like card games or board games, read a book, and simply provide a listening ear and someone to talk to.

If you chose to age at home, companionship and social interaction are crucial to stay healthy. Having a companion around can make all the difference in seniors’ lives.

Our caregivers truly care about the seniors we serve. They get to know them, build friendly relationships, and keep their company. More importantly, they learn about their hobbies and support them in reliving things they used to enjoy but can no longer do. Activities can include the arts, golf, swimming, gardening, cooking, shopping, and visits to famous sightseeing areas. Our free in-home assessment will help identify what our clients love to do and help establish a comprehensive care plan incorporating those hobbies.

Housekeeping duties include:
Vacuuming
Changing Bed Linen
Laundry, Washing & Drying
Floor Cleaning, Sweeping & Mopping
Emptying Trash Cans
Cleaning Countertop
Wiping Down Kitchen Appliances
Organizing Closets & Cupboards

It is usually best to care for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease in their own homes because the familiar surroundings are comforting. Our dementia care services can help your loved ones live safely and comfortably in their homes. We create customized care services to ensure that your loved one’s care needs are met.

At Big Hearts Home Care, our caregivers are specially trained to handle the common symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s and create a safe environment for those affected by these diseases.

We will ensure that the conditions of the home are safe so there is less danger when our clients wander, and we always remain patient and give positive reinforcement when they start to show signs of agitation. Our team also helps with incontinence and personal activities such as bathing and getting dressed.

Your body goes through a lot after giving birth. If you don’t feel your best after having a baby, it’s no wonder. Your body is recovering from birth that was, at the very least, physically taxing. It is turning off the pregnancy changes that have held sway for nine months. And it is turning on your mothering systems—from lactation to that alarm that goes off in your head when your baby cries. Some of these changes are not pretty, but they are pretty impressive. A caregiver can help you go through these changes smoothly by allowing you to have rest while the caregiver looks after your newborn.

Our caregivers will give you further support services depending on your needs.
