Horrible experience. I was waiting for 30 min and if I didn't call them to say I have been waiting 30 min the girl would of not even come and checked, her respond when I said Iv been here for 30 min was ya and. My question were not being answered properly, she had playing music loud and when I asked if she can put it down so I can hear her her response was no you'll be fine. they tell you personal trainer but don't tell you it's actually group training. Just starting out but I think Jim Reeves and this gym Athlete Zone are awesome... even for a woman who wouldn’t consider herself much of an athlete. .. so far they seem very supportive and v knowledgeable about the body and how it moves. I’ve been an improvement in just the first week. To help me achieve the goals I’ve set for myself I feel like I’m in good hands. Q&As

First and foremost, I listen to what the client wants and use their goals to guide how we go through the results of their evaluation in a Functional Movement Screen (FMS). The FMS is a series of movement tests that highlight the presence or absence of proper mobility, stabilization patterns and proper motor patterns that a client moves and exercises with.

Using the clients goals and the results of their FMS evaluation, we build a program for the client that matches their ability level but gently pushes them outside their comfort level. The FMS guides the program development by giving me the most pressing movement-based needs that each client has. Then I build their program from this information.

It is important to understand that most people discontinue their training or experience prolonged periods of modified activity due to injuries and pain that develops as they try to incorporate a higher level of activity at the beginning of their fitness journey. If you can't exercise due to pain or injury, you won't achieve you goals and most likely will give up.

If we can identify significant movement inefficiencies and build corrective exercises into their training program, we can make positive changes to a client's movement ability and keep them moving well and pain-free as their program progresses.

We deliver our programs to our clients through an app on their phone, with all the sets, reps, past performance data and exercise videos contained in the app. Clients log their training performance, entering their training data like weights used, reps performed, distances or training times performed and can even substitute exercises in for ones that were originally prescribed.

The app allows up to exchange both online live messaging and videos as well, allowing us to help each client individually by reviewing technique and answering any questions they have.

In addition, we also deliver "on demand" programs to the clients through the app as well. These are themed training workouts that give our clients additional training options in addition to the formal training program we deliver to them.

Examples of these on demand programs are; Daily Warm-up Program, Daily Postural Reset, Daily Recovery Program, Core & Conditioning Program, Daily Interval Training, HIIT Circuits, Power Endurance Circuits, Daily Trunk & Shoulder Mobility Program, Low Back Stability Program, Hip Mobility Program, Knee Stability Program, Knee Pain Program and a General Activity Log.

We offer the ability to coach clients remotely as well through the app's video function. And we can take that one step further and perform remote FMS evaluations as well, allowing us to offer fully customized program development for our distance based clients.

Consistency is one of the key strategies we emphasize with our clients.

Another is focused work. What is the minimum effective dose to achieve the required results.

We develop programs and build a plan for each client, so whether it is a health and fitness goal, an aesthetic body profile goal, overcoming an injury goal or an athletic performance goal; the plan is the most important part of achieving that goal.

We do not do random.... anything. Everything has a purpose.

I knew that I could create a company that would provide the facility, programs and atmosphere for clients who wanted to achieve their dreams and were willing to work hard, but value working smart towards their goals.

I think I am a good choice for people who want results and are willing to work for it but recognize they need a plan to get to where they want to go.

I offer my expertise as a Certified Functional Strength Coach, Precision Nutrition Certified Coach, Registered Kinesiologist and a 23 year career as an Athletic Therapist in addition to playing hockey at the university level as an athlete.

So, over my career I have helped thousands of people achieve their goals, recover from injury, make changes in their body profile, create an active lifestyle for themselves or just take the next step in their health journey.

I am not a good choice for someone who needs a babysitter or someone who does not want the professional they hire to be honest and up-front with them.

Yes, we deliver our services to every client who works with us, either in-house or online, to an app in their phone.

Not only do we deliver our individual training programs for clients in the app, we also deliver "on demand" programs to augment a clients experience and ability to achieve their goals.

And, we offer nutrition coaching online as well through our 28 Day Kick Start Nutrition Program and daily breakfast and lunch meal plan. The Kick Start program introduces 8 key nutrition habits we recommend all our clients master to help achieve their nutrition goals. Along with the online program we also have the ability to provide a customized calorie, macro-nutrient and portion control guide for our clients.

We require digital temperature checks and an online questionnaire screen upon entering our facility. Clients are required to spray down all equipment used with a medical grade cleaning solution and our entire facility is sprayed down at the end of each day by our staff.

We require masks to be worn by all clients and staff, as per the provincial regulations, when not participating in an exercise. In addition, we have separated out training areas for each client by taping off a floor plan that allows for proper distancing from other clients.

Our online scheduling system has also been updated so that a limited number of clients can schedule to attend each training time. This limits the number of active clients in our facility at any one time, even though we have 6,000sq.ft. of training space available.
