Q&As

I find people highly interesting. Each person is unique and in my work it is an opportunity to understand another person. I also maintain my training and education through a commitment to ongoing learning. Through understanding my client’s unique needs this enables me to provide them with the information I have learned to benefit their lives.

I chose to start my own business as I prefer to offer individualized services to meet my client’s needs. Through having autonomy in my counselling practice this enables me to offer highly individualized support which I think is essential to counselling support.

I provide online counselling through a portal called NousTalk. This is a secure encrypted server to ensure my client’s confidentiality is protected in appointments.

I offer services remotely for individuals who prefer video based support. Additionally, I follow contact precautions and best practices to ensure my client’s health and safety.

Services

I provide support through validated models of support such as neuroscience based models (e.g. polyvagal theory), mindfulness based models (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy), CBT and supportive counselling based on a humanistic model. In my work with clients I seek a highly collaborative approach. My clients bring their knowledge of themselves to the appointment such as their thoughts, feelings and experiences. As a therapist I seek to understand my clients and this provides an opportunity for my client’s to understand themselves. We then develop supports and approaches based on my client and my joint understanding of them as individuals and their unique challenges.
