As a Professional Coach, using ICF’s Core Competencies and the Adler Approach to Coaching, I engage with the client to facilitate change, assisting them along their journey using an active learning paradigm to move them from current state to a desired higher potential future state. This is done by:
• Establishing a relationship of support and trust
• Communicating effectively through active listening, powerful questioning, and direct communication
• Facilitating learning by creating awareness of who they are considering their strengths, values and purpose, what they want to achieve, what is their current state, and what works and does not work for them
• Exploring choices and envisioning a desired future state
• Developing trust in self
• Establishing and committing to actions
• Identifying how they will hold themselves accountable and manage progress
• Recognizing and celebrating accomplishments.
Coaching can focus on improving performance in the client's current role and/or career development by enhancing their confidence/communication, relationships/engagement and leadership skills.

Using the 7-step Hoshin Kanri process to align the Breakthrough and Continuous Improvement initiatives from all levels of the organization with the senior leader’s business goals and strategic objectives, then puting in place the processes to ensure achievement of the goals.
Starting with the organization’s mission and vision articulating a credible, realistic and attractive future state, or “True North”, tools such as Value Stream Mapping and SWOT Analysis are used to clearly define the current state and identify the improvement opportunities that need to be addressed establishing the path to the desired future state
Communicating this throughout the organization enables each layer and department within the organization to set their objectives and establish their plans aligned to True North. Using tools such as the X-matrix and the Catchball process ensures there is within-function as well as cross-functional alignment with clearly defined resource and support requirements and a shared responsibility to achieving the business goals.
