We recently used AC Electrical and had an excellent experience, we would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. Nick showed up promptly at 5 minutes to the agreed upon time, was super polite, clean and professional, got to work, cleaned up after himself, explained everything he was doing for us, and what was incorrect about the previous (old, being replaced) exhaust fan installation. The work involved Nick going into our attic. Because this company works in East York I did not have to tell him what to expect in an East York bungalow attic. Steve helped to solve the problem of why we couldn’t turn on the chandelier in our dining room. It had stopped working when the wrong volt bulbs had been put in and even when the correct ones were used, it still didn’t work. Steve replaced the light switch and fixed the wiring. He suggested a way to make sure it didn’t happen again as well. Then he replaced some of the breakers in our electrical panel that were the wrong type. He also helped to plug an old wiring conduit that was causing us problems. He showed up on time and was very helpful in his explanations of what he was doing. Would definitely have him come back. My experience with this contractor was mixed, but I am now satisfied that they take their customer service seriously. Initially, the people at the head office were helpful on the phone, but the electrician who turned up at my home to install an outlet in my basement was negative and unhelpful. He insisted that my new sump pump had to be connected directly to the electrical panel (rather than just installing an electrical outlet) and gave me a quote for $600. I found out later that this was untrue (all that was needed was an outlet) and got it done for much, much less. So I ended up paying $66 for the initial visit/consultation for no reason. But subsequent to my complaint, Genelle, the office manager, made a special effort to rectify the situation by contacting me and hearing me out. I appreciate that this contractor has tried to make amends. So I am changing my initial negative review to a more positive one. More...

I had an opportunity to hired AC Electrical when I did my kitchen and bathroom renovation last year. I am more than satisfied with their work and professional as every process went very smoothly from very beginning with office customer service Sandra to end of the job. This year I again called them to do some more jobs and they did such great job for reasonable price. 1. Sandra. She is one of the best customer service I ever spoke with since she answer my every call and emails with respect and humble without any delay. I wanna thank her first for all the help. Secondly, Nick, the owner of the company who came to give estimate to me is a true gentleman and professional. He has such a positive energy that makes me feel comfortable. I lost power to half my house. I used Homestars to find an electrician. I called three. I left a voicemail at 1, was directed to email at the 2nd ( still haven't heard from them), and spoke to Sandra at AC Electrical. So, first plus for AC Electrical is that they have people dedicated to answering the phone during business hours. Sandra booked me for an appointment within 24 hours. Second plus, for AC Electrical, is they review their call requests quickly and assess the potential problem. Within half an hour of my call I received a call from Helen, an electrician at the company. She advised me to call Toronto Hydro to come and check my lines. She thought it was likely a problem outside my house. I really appreciated this advice and called my utility provider. In the meantime, Helen called back in 2 hours to see what T. Hydro had done. She advised that my appointment for the next day would be held until I advised otherwise. She told me to call the phone number at any time that night and leave a voice mail to let me know how things with Toronto Hydro had gone. I really appreciated the call as it made me feel I had their support and AC Electrical would be available until my problem was fixed, even if they didn't fix the problem. Toronto Hydro came within 6 hours and identified that one of the 100 amp fuses at my main had blown (who knew I had fuses! . . I have 2 breaker panels). This confirmed that the problem did require an electrician. However, Toronto Hydro did replace my connections and line to the street as they assessed the wires were very old. I'm very happy about that too. I left a voicemail for AC Electrical, texted photos of the fuse required and requested confirmation of when would come the next day. I received a text the next morning confirming an earlier appointment time and that they had the fuses in stock. Third plus for AC Electrical, Kyle arrived, during the stated apointment window, with the 2 fuses and got my electricity up and running quickly. He then went on to make recommedations on improvements to our electrical system. We plan to do renovations within the year. So, he wrote up a quote that included our plans and his recommendations. Hired AC Electrical to fix some wiring issues in our older home, Kyle was great, worked fast and surprised us with how little damage had to be done to put new outlets in areas there weren't any before. We had numerous things completed in one shot, such as adding 20A plugs in the kitchen, relocating a plug that was in a closet, rewiring the basement that had been unsafe, adding pot lights to the kitchen, and upgrading an aging panel to a new one with more space. Russell and Kyle were lifesavers. They spent almost the full day at our place fixing our multitude of issues. We bought a new house and needed 4 ceiling lights installed and at the last minute, needed our dishwasher electrical fixed because it wasn’t working when we had it installed. Russell and Kyle worked to ensure there was minimum repair required for our popcorn ceilings and I still can’t believe how much better priced they were than the competition. They stayed until the job was fully complete (even when there were unexpected complications). The affable, professional AC Electrical crew arrived early enough to allow for final decisions on the relocation of an older fuse panel hidden behind the kitchen drawers in an older 2 bed condo. After careful consideration, a new breaker panel was tastefully installed in a new approved location, three new dedicated wall-mount lines to power window-mount air conditioners were run and a few old outlets were discovered, properly grounded and GFCI protected. They were knowledgeable, conscientious, and polite with good attention to detail and never forgetting they were drilling through walls in someone's home. We had a great experience with AC Electrical. Once we sent them a photo of our fan, we received a call from the company explaining our options. The person I spoke to over the phone was professional and informative. Within a couple of days, Russell came over to remove our fan and install one that he had brought with him. He needed to enlarge the existing opening in our wall to accomodate the new fan, and did so in a precise way. Our main concern was that we get a a quiet fan and the one he installed was not only incredibly quiet, but effective in drying up the shower and bathroom walls quickly. Russell consulted with me at every step of the installation and cleaned the workspace leaving it in the same condition that he found it - he also took away our old fan, which we appreciated. AC Electrical was recommended by a friend who'd seen them rewire an old house, replacing ceiling to basement knob and tube with modern copper wiring. My friend told me AC Electrical had done a stellar job. So I called them and one of their electricians Steve, with forty years in the business, came and checked out our home for knob and tube wiring. Unlike another company we called, who claimed we had problems we didn't so they could get more money from us, Steve checked all our wiring thoroughly, assuring us we had no knob and tube and converting two dangerous sockets into grounded ones. He also gave us a letter for our insurance company confirming that we had all copper wiring. I called AC Electrical Contractors and Michelle was very helpful. Steve came to correct outlets that were not working. He found that the wiring was not done properly and that there were further issues. I booked him to come back. He and Kyle came after the New Year and said it would take a day to day and 1/2 to do everything. They were very efficient and found some issues that they shared with me immediately. They were very knowledgeable and made efforts to check all switches and outlets to secure my home. Steve and Kyle were able to get everything done in one day. The work was clean and all issues that I was expeincing in the house were resolved.
