Good afternoon, I am 58 years of age and my wife is 60. Shrrr, I guess a felllow should not reveal a Woman’s age! I was at a stage where my mind was hyper focused on our financial future. We were in need of professional intellectual capital to aid us in strategically deciding how to best position ourselves for the next 10 years. Mortgage was a big factor in our strategy, as it is by far our largest capital venture and represented our life’s achievement financially thus far. We have hard earned equity but our thoughts were that equity is only something that looks good on paper unless you plan on selling in the near future. We needed a trusted partner that would help us navigate the world of leveraging our equity in the most optimal fashion possible. We decided to take a gamble and searched the internet for Mortgage brokers. I did not know much about Mortgage Brokers , other then the word on the street. The BARK link popped up following my search,on a stress filled Sunday afternoon, so I threw caution to the wind and submitted a request on BARK. To my surprise, it was not Monday or Tuesday that I received feedback, it was within an hour, yes an hour! Melanie reached out to me while managing life’s’ challenges and began to engage with me on the spot ! She was warm, and understanding of my concerns at the time and began to provide what turns out to have been a SIGNIFICANT VALUE PROPOSITION over several months that has resulted in the execution of a very strategic plan of action for us for the next 10 years. I cannot speak for everyone, though my wife tells me that I think I can 😀, but it has been much more then a broker finding us a good mortgage. The relentless strategy sessions and number crunching and forecasting and thought provoking discussions around best approach and the endless texting support through questions of how to why to when to and finally the guidance on executing the strategy. Melanie was there to support with solid intellectual capital regardless of time of day or even when she was on vacation! Remaining confident about the financial decisions we take is incredibly important to mental health as well a financial health. Having a solid, reliable partner to help guide you does significantly more then just “get a good mortgage”. We are very Grateful for Melanie’s guidance and support and we know that it is not a “one and done proposition” with her. She remains as a trusted partner as we continue to execute this plan moving forward, which quite frankly represents “money in the bank”. What do you love most about your job?
I love working and helping my client achieve wealth through real-estate. I take the time to educate my clients as too many don't truly understand the terms, how interest rates work, explanation and options available etc. I want to empower you through education to you feel confident that you made the best decision. My goal is not always to find you the best interest rate but to ensure that you are strategically placed based on your short and long-term goals and when life happens, we pivot!
What inspired you to start your own business?
In my past career as an HR Professional, I love working and helping people in general. I was inspired to make a career change after 18 years to have the flexibility to work from home and to work for myself. It is not easy to pivot but you can never be rewarded if you don't take any risks in life.
