This was my first time working with a career coach and I found Christopher's program comprehensive, easy to follow, and insightful. The work helped me identify my core values as well as my priorities which in term has enabled me to put my work in perspective. Understanding what my true professional needs are and how they may overlap or differ with my professional aspirations has led me to a more authentically grounded and less emotional approach to working through some challenges I was experiencing in my career. Christopher is dedicated, kind, relatable and encouraging. He has helped me reclaim a confidence in my position that has always been there, but which was obscured by workplace dysfunction and dissonance. Christopher is not just “Follow these 8 steps and you’ll be on your way to a new career” kind of coach. He is there with you every step, formulating and tailoring this course to you specifically. The McFadden Group was my first experience with professional coaching and I can't say enough about the work that Christopher and I accomplished in our sessions. I'll tell you what it's not, it's not a quick fix or career planning like you learned in high school. It's deep, mysterious and overwhelming. That said with the right tools you can overcome anything this world throws at you. I first met Christopher 10 years when he was in the hospitality industry and I was pursuing my wine education. I remember the first time I met him and told I was preparing for an exam he immediately handed me his business card and told me to reach out anytime for guidance with my studies. When I first read The Mcfadden group's posts while I'm not in the hospitality industry, I hover outside of it, and the message of soft skills resonated with me because we are all in the business of caring for those in our charge. As a manager I need to understand each employee and their needs both professionally and personally in order to be able to lead them to be the best that they can in my industry or any other industry they pursue. My hope is that if someone leaves my work place that they leave a better person than when they joined. I first reached out to Chistopher for a 1 on 1 chat because I was struggling with a colleague at work. They are pushy, nosy and generally a nuisance. Constantly poking the bear and then acting coy when called out on their behaviour. I was done. I was honestly on the verge of quitting a job I've been at for many years and have grown in. Christopher listened with the intent of understanding during sessions and asked the tough questions not just to get to the route of this issue but to help me peel back the layers in order to respond accordingly, and to give me the confidence to know when to speak up and when to 'Let them be. Through the exercises and homework I've gained a greater insight into who I am as a professional and what my core values are. This truly helped me to see that I need to rebrand who I am as a professional and how I present myself to the world professionally while intently pursuing my passions. I've grown to believe through my sessions that My presence commands respect, I operate from a place of Integrity and I build Community.
