All I can say is Wow! Pete killed it!

We hired Pete to DJ an annual huge holiday party we host at my home. The crowd is diverse and ranges from age 20 through 65, so this can be a daunting task of finding music that keeps everyone on the dance floor. We have hosted this party for 7 years now and I have tried a number of other DJs, and while they all have been good, Pete blew them out of the water and I believe my constant search for a DJ for my event is over now that I found him!

Let's start with communication. After lots of positive word-of-mouth, I reached out to Pete and he immediately replied to my inquiry about his availability and getting a quote. From there he is extremely reachable, thorough and professional. He had a contract to us in no time outlining all the key aspects. From there Pete arranged phone calls with me to get a complete understanding of the attendees, the theme of the event, the desired vibe of the event etc. His careful planning meant that on the night of the event he knew exactly what the ebb and flow of the event would be, i.e. some quieter welcoming music as guests arrived, got acclimated and wanted to talk...to knowing exactly when the party was ready to drop at which point he cranked up the volume and beat!

Ok let's talk equipment...Pete brings everything!! And by the end of his setup our basement looked like an epic night club! His speakers easily filled the house with his tunes and his bass blew the doors off...in fact the sign of any good party was that every single one of our pictures hung on the wall were a little askew by the next morning, because the bass was pumping! Pete also did all his own set up and take down which was very much appreciated.

Finally the music! Pete is not some lame, 'press play' on a spotify play list. I hate that! No! Pete mixes and mashes songs, reads the room and builds-up to the next epic song drop that gets the crowd going! He is comfortable with all genres, playing top 40, house, rock, Christmas music and even mashed up some bhangra beats in there. You didn't know what to expect next, but you knew it would be good.

Working with DJ Pete and Swank Entertainment was wonderful from planning stages to the end of the big night! We hired Pete to DJ our wedding in Niagara-On-The-Lake. We did some digging to hire a DJ and were fortunate enough to have been contacted by Pete who was personable and forthright during our introductory messages and call. We were looking to curate a sizable portion of our wedding playlists and Pete welcomed this approach. He was grateful for our playlists and complimentary toward many of our choices - he even recommended some variations for the ceremony.
On the day of the wedding Pete and his assistant Freda arrived well ahead of time to set up and were met with some unexpected rules from our venue which threatened to hinder the way they operate. Pete was quick to alert us of this and assure us they would work around these rules, and indeed everything ran seamlessly. Pete made sure the music sounded best as possible in each room (ceremony, cocktail hour and reception). He played our playlists plus several great additions that kept bodies on the dancefloor, and he nailed the song queues for our ceremony and speeches that we discussed ahead of the wedding day.

Pete was the first vendor I reached out to at the very start of planning. I was a wreck and was only engaged for a couple of months. Our first conversation lasted almost 2 hours. The second conversation was just over 90 minutes. He gave me so much advice and guidance about things that were not even music related. He gave me a list of questions to ask different vendors especially the venues. I know that I would have made the wrong choices without that advice. I would have been lost without him.
The most shocking thing about all of this was he dedicated close to 2.5 hours when I had not even signed a contract with him. Tell me the name of another vendor, not including venues, that would spend 2.5 hours of their time to just to be a nice person to a stranger on the phone. I bet you can't.

Pete is super talented at what he does. He was able to keep his finger on the pulse of the party to make sure it didn't go awkward. He was able to dial into our musical tastes right from moment one. It was great to hear song after song that we loved. His prices are extremely reasonable. With his level of talent he is worth double than what I paid.

My husband and I cannot recommend DJ Pete more!!! We used his services for our wedding on Thanksgiving weekend this year, and we can't believe how lucky we were to have him.

Our search for a DJ was a tad unusual as our original one ended up ghosting us, so luckily for us DJ Pete was available! He was so quick to respond to our inquiries on Bark and via text and within the first 10 minutes we knew we had made the best choice.

On the day of the ceremony, we had an acoustic guitar singer so we didn't need Pete right away. He was amazing enough to help the guitarist set up, and then he went above and beyond and acted as our signal person for the ceremony so we would know when to walk to the aisle.
