The only mall in Vancouver proper and with Oakridge now back open, I hope City Square stays quiet and tucked away.It has a sufficient range of food options, a Dollarama and Japanese Dollarama (Daiso), gym, liquor, Body Energy and little shops for odd trinkets. 2 hours of parking is included if you spend $10 at Sungiven and most of the other vendors have similar offerings.I hope this place never changes.The only thing keeping it from a full 5-stars would be the pack of clothing stores, though there's one spectacular spot for senior ladies. This place has some great qualities.At first, this might look quite old and small, but it has various shops, grocery stores and food court. It’s not really a shopping center here. It’s mostly medical offices, clinics, and labs. The food court quality is okay, like if you need to grab something quick after your appointment, it’s fine, but it’s not really a place you’d go to for a proper meal or to hang out. We love this mall. Sungiven is our go-to grocery. In fact, we went four days in a row this week. Last night we found out we lost our parking ticket when we paid at cashier. Staff at Sungiven were super nice, helping us to look for it, but no luck. They had no idea how to deal with this, and gave us a 24/7 security number to call for help. The person answered the call just said, “Absolutely not. There is nothing I can do.” This turned out to be not true. You could buy a “lost parking ticket” at the ticket machine for $31.5, and the security should have just told us. The Sungiven staff advised us to take a picture of the parking ticket from now on, so that we could tell the time and ticket number as evidence. I just wanted to share this lesson with others who might unfortunately need this in the future. More...
