Tim is hands down the most amazing coach I’ve ever worked with. I’m constantly impressed by his deep knowledge of exercises, posture, nutrition, and injury prevention, as well as his incredible attention to detail.
I have a desk job and play competitive beach volleyball, which means long hours of sitting with potential bad posture and a higher risk of injuries. After moving from San Diego to Vancouver, I struggled with neck and lower back pain for months, but within just two weeks of working with Tim, those pains were completely gone. He designed a personalized posture routine for me, making sure I hit each muscle group correctly, and dynamically combined upper- and lower-body exercises to improve my sports performance. After following his recommendations to increase my water intake to 3+ liters and take salt and supplements more seriously, I instantly noticed an improvement in my energy and performance.
Unlike other coaches I’ve worked with, Tim is fully present, professional, and laser-focused on my form — no distractions, no phone-checking(besides arranging my workouts in the app), just 100% commitment. I think of him as a perfect mix between a personal trainer and a physical therapist, especially with his emphasis on breathing techniques, which has been a game-changer for long-term sports performance. I was going back and forth with the idea of working with a personal trainer for a long time, but I started off the year with the mentality that I needed a change in order to not only benefit my need to shed old habits but also improve my self-confidence.
It was then that I had the absolute pleasure of working with Tim.
Not only was I able to connect with him on a personal level right from the get go, he was already able to cater an entire program to my needs just by simply stating what I wanted my goals to be on day one. So far we’ve worked together for about two months now, and every gym session I would come in and be anxiously waiting to get started (I still continually am) cause Tim’s energy would elevate my own desire to push myself harder. I feel much stronger now than when I first started working out, and exercises I used to initially struggle with heavily I can now complete with relative ease thanks to his help and motivation. He makes you feel comfortable in the gym environment and talks about his experiences, encourages and even urges you to ask questions, but most importantly is reachable and always willing to help whenever I need him or don’t understand something.
I could go on and on if I wanted to, but if there’s one take away from this review it’s this: progression at times can be a slow and grueling process, and you need someone by your side who’s going to be there through the fire with you. There are also times when it’s normal for you to lead yourself astray or off track, and you need someone to hold yourself accountable for those actions and ways to improve.
Working with Tim is going to be the best decision you make in that regard, not only because you’ll soon start looking forward to your gym and workout sessions on a regular basis, but you’ll also connect with someone who will make you see yourself via an entirely new perspective, and gain insight into ways in which you can better not only your body, but your life and yourself as a whole.

I’m struggling with where to start with this review, because I feel that it is difficult to encapsulate Tim’s value as a trainer in a brief paragraph. Tim goes above and beyond for each of his clients, both during sessions and in his personal time. During session, he is attentive and gives feedback not just on form, but on posture, breathing, and other micro-behaviours to help you perform at your best. He also points out areas that may need additional work, either through stretching/mobility, or by working with a physio/RMT. After sessions, he is very responsive to questions and shares his wealth of experience when it comes to nutrition, and behaviours/habits that will set you up for success. I’ve been training with Ricepump Fitness for a little over a month now, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The personal trainer is not only knowledgeable and professional but also incredibly motivating and approachable.

It was my first time training with a personal trainer but he eased the training in and I truly trusts him in every session. He gives clear directions, adjusts your position to use the right muscles while making sure you are not getting hurt, and creates an environment that encourages raising any kind of questions or concerns during and even outside of sessions. This is the second time I've worked with a personal trainer, and through just two sessions, I understand how much of a positive difference a great trainer like Tim can make.
He is extremely attentive and accommodating, making sure you are heard and that your questions in and out of sessions are answered promptly. When I bring up specific physical limitations, Tim is immediately able to provide an alternative move that works with me and additional exercises that help to alleviate the limitation gradually. At first I was honestly just looking to fork some money in on a trainer so that I will have no choice but to “make it to the session.
” - that was my mindset. I was this depressed, disorganized, reluctant, blame-everyone/everything-but-me type of a person. I was constantly comparing myself to how I WAS in the past… when I USED TO BE skinnier, when I was younger, when i was in shape, when i was punctual, when i was tidy… oh the list goes on.
In 2023 I started working out with you and as more sessions go by I started to really appreciate how genuinely passionate you are in helping others achieve a better version of themselves (on top of your knowledge and experience ofc). You always adapt to your learners’ level. You connect with your clients beyond just counting reps and enforcing a program. To people who are suffering from frail mental or/and physical health, you really are doing a life saving, impactful work for the society.
A few months fast forward, I went from a couch potato at her heaviest weight, to now able to go to the gym all by myself at my own will (ladies, you know how intimidating gyms can be), I look for different activities/sports to do daily, itch for a good sweat session if I miss a workout, and most of all, I am so much happier. My outlook on life is no longer “I used to be ABC, but now i can’t do it be because XYZ.” I fully accept who I am now and just enjoy witnessing the little improvement and changes I make along the journey. It is much more liberating and fulfilling. I don’t live in the past as much anymore. I feel like I am finally walking forward instead of in circles. There will be obstacles but at least now have better foundation and tools that I can utilize to get back on my feet.

We worked a lot on my posture and form. Having had been sitting and looking at the screen for so long, my shoulders are really stiff and Tim taught me some exercises to loosen up and strengthen the relevant muscle groups for better posture. This really helps when I train by myself too.
