What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Reading the room. A great dance floor isn't built from a predetermined playlist. We prepare carefully before the event, learn what you and your guests enjoy, and then adapt in real time. Song selection, timing, energy and knowing when to change direction all matter. The goal isn't just to play great music—it's to play the right song for the people in front of us at the right moment.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Professional, prepared and adaptable. We don't believe your event should feel like the DJ's show. Our job is to understand the atmosphere you want, keep everything flowing naturally and step forward when we're needed without taking over the celebration. Every crowd is different, so we prepare extensively and then read the room as the event unfolds.
What do you love most about your job?
That moment when everything comes together. At a wedding it might be a packed dance floor with three generations celebrating together; at a school dance it's hundreds of students completely engaged; at a corporate event it's watching a carefully planned program run exactly as it should. Guests see the finished event—we get a lot of satisfaction from all the preparation behind it that made that moment possible.
What inspired you to start your own business?
A love of music started it, but Pacific Sound grew into something much bigger than playing songs. We saw how much difference proper planning, professional sound, good communication and an experienced DJ can make to an event. Today we approach every booking as an event to be planned and delivered—not simply another DJ gig.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because you're hiring someone to take responsibility for more than the playlist. We prepare your music, sound, lighting, announcements, key moments and event flow before your guests arrive. Equipment is set up and tested, important details are planned in advance, and we're ready to adapt when real life doesn't follow the schedule perfectly. Much of the planning can be handled remotely. Consultations, music planning, timelines, event details and proposal discussions can all be completed by phone, email or online. The actual DJ, sound and event-production services are delivered on-site, with everything prepared in advance so we're ready when your event begins.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We maintain professional standards for clean, well-maintained equipment and responsible event practices. We're also happy to work with clients and venues on any specific health, safety or accessibility requirements they may have for their event.
